BZ 1684: Current year homer streak not listed if player had a longer homer streak in previous years?

I had a player on my team (Bobby Grich) homer in three straight games in 1974, but his name is missing from the "Streaks" statistics screen for "Home Run Streak". I looked over it for awhile, and I think I figured out why.

Bobby Grich had a span of games back in 1971 (when this was an OOTP 8 league) when he homered in four straight games. In fact, he's listed in the "All-Time Home Run Streak" section with 4. It looks like the game decided that since he didn't beat his previous high with the three homers this year in 1974, it didn't bother putting his three-homer-streak on the current year list at all. The top guy on the current year "Home Run Streak" list also had a three-game homer streak, but instead of showing Grich as being tied with this other guy for homering in three straight games this year, only the other guy is showing up - presumably since Grich had a previously higher streak in years past.

Not sure if this is a bug or intended logic... hopefully someone can explain it to me. It seems to me that even though Grich's three-homer streak wasn't his best all-time homer streak run, he should still be at the top of this year's home run streak list. But it looks like OOTP isn't tracking it that way. I'm not sure if it should or not.

I've noticed this also happens to pitchers with longer undefeated streaks in their career...once the streak is over, it's no longer listed in the top streaks for that season.

A later time? This bug makes the whole streaks page virtually worthless since there are gaping holes in it now. If you're missing all players who have had a longer streak in their career, then what exactly is the point of using this screen to see the longest streaks of the season?
