BZ 1758: Unnecessary substitutions

I've noticed several instances of unnecessary substitutions made by the AI in quick-played games. Here's one example:

In the bottom of the 9th F. Kuhn pinch-hit for the SS, J. Flores, and I. Crisotomo pinch-hit for the 2B, D. Webb.

In the top of the 10th, according to the box score, F. Wells, playing 2B, substituted for I. Crisotomo, but then N. Moss, playing SS, immediately substituted for F. Wells. F. Kuhn (who is a left fielder with infield attributes of 1 and no position rating for 2B) was left in the game to play 2B.

The game log for the top of the 10th indicates F. Kuhn playing 2B and N. Moss playing SS, but no mention of F. Wells. F. Wells's log of games played, however, contains a line for an appearance in this game.

Something's not right. Strategically, these substitutions wasted a player, and resulted in an unqualified player at a position when a qualified player was available. And technically, the recording of what happened is inconsistent.
