BZ 1821: Roster Problem

This is an annoyance rather than a show stopper. If it so happens that, at the end of the season, two computer-controlled teams are tied and they have to play a game to determine who makes the play-offs, the following happens. At the time, I have 40 players on my roster because of roster expansion. When I tell the computer to play this game, it tells me that I have too many players on my roster, so I go to the Action button and tell the game to set my rosters, but it seems to think that I'm still permitted to have 40 players on my roster. In the end, I have to demote players by hand until my active roster has 25.

It appears that the module that sets my roster thinks I'm still in the regular season with an expanded roster. However, the module that simulates the one-game play-off thinks I'm in the play-offs when roster sizes are 25.

What does the game say the season is in - it should be just below the date in the top right corner?

I'm afraid that I don't have that info. However, it should be easy enough for the developers to duplicate. Start up a major-league game, and set it up so that two computer teams in a division are tied at the end of the 162-game season. Tell the game to play that day's games and you should see the problem.
