BZ 1888: All Star Game Scheduling error
I started a game with the all star game at the mid-way point in the season. After about 3 seasons, i wanted to have the all star game at the end of the year, a week before the playoffs. So, before pre-season of the 4 th season, I changed the all-star game date to one week before the end of the season. When the schedule was generated for the 4th season, the game was on scheduled on the correct date, but the off days surrounding the game were not scheduled in at all. So I had games before the all-star game and on the all star game date and directly after it. I do not have "automatically schedule the all star game" checked off in the league setup screen. Is there any way to fix this?

I honestly have no idea. Were you using version 9.1.6? Was a break in the schedule created for the time at which the all-star game was previously set? It may be that the game uses some preset schedules that aren't flexible enough to properly account for all-star game breaks. You might have to go in and edit the schedule itself.

Schedule Issue
I set up a 162 game schedule for my 28 team league and then saved it to a file. I am trying to load the schedule for a new season but it is messing up the All-Star break.
I have the season set to start on the first Monday in April. I am telling the game to schedule the All-Star game on July 10th which is where it should appear on the schedule. When I load the schedule it starts the season on the right day but the all star break shows up a week early. Then there is a second break that shows up at the end of the following week. When I go back and check the Options screen for the league the date of the All Star game has moved to the 3rd of July. I have tried clearing the schedule and reloading a couple of times but it has the same problem. Every time I set the All Star game for July 10th but it keeps resetting to the 3rd when I load the schedule. I have looked at the schedule file and the days are correct such that the All Star break should go from July 9-11 properly. I have a second similar schedule file and it had the same problem. What's up? |

Could you attach the schedule file you are trying to use to a reply to this (you may need to change the extension to .txt to do this)
Once it's up, I'll let Le Grande Orange know about this as he is the expert on all this scheduling stuff.

I've sent Le Grande Orange a PM about this, so hopefully he'll get to look at it at some point.

Quote:
That particular option is intended for use when an imported schedule has no All-Star break in it. Using the option will make OOTP insert a three-day break at the approximate midpoint of the schedule and assign an All-Star Game to the middle day of the break. If the schedule file already has an All-Star Game and break set in the file, it will result in the kind of confusion you're seeing. If you want an All-Star Game in a schedule being generated by the game, just enable the "Hold All-Star Game" option. The game should do the rest. Quote:
I know I ran into something like this when I was beta testing, but that was long ago enough now I can't recall exactly what I did to get around it. I think I tried a couple of times to generate a new schedule with the new options I had selected, and when that finally happened I was then able to import the schedule file without a problem. Something else to note is that the All-Star Game is really not fixed to a specific date but rather to a set number of days after the start of the schedule (e.g. 100th day of the season, 103rd day of the season, etc.). Can you please post a zip of the actual OOTP9 .lsdl schedule file?
