Gambo Ankit 3.5 Finished
The newest version of my database is nearly finished and ready for upload. I just want to work on the master file and nicknames a bit more.
It's a modified version of Ankit's Career Avg Database but it now includes. 1.Every player from 1901-2004 including Federal League 2.Players will import in the year they made their pro debuts. Not their major league debut. And at levels that reflect their development. 3.Players who missed entire seasons will be imported for that year as if they didnt miss the season (They will be Free Agents and can be placed on their correct teams from there) I just want to work on it for a couple more hours and it'll be done. If you want to host it tell me where and how and I'll get it to you today. I will post the readme when I'm done. |

Probably a very simple answer to this but - Why is it we have to delete the career stats when starting an historical league?

You dont have to delete the career stats (well not in the game). The database is essentially a Career Average DB so the players historical stats are averaged numbers that have been adjusted not their real stats. If you want their career numbers when you start your league just use the steps I stated

I was not originally a fan of this project but perhaps I judged too early. I will take another look and might use this for my next mod project which will be the 1993 or 1994 season.
Well done on your continued efforts despite some negative opinions expressed by others such as myself. You have my respect and I consider you a strong member of the OOTP community. |

Thanks Cowboy.
I did understand where you were coming from with your comments but they were unjustified. I would love to see you use my DB for one of your projects. The reason I did the DB in the 1st place is to make projects like yours more complete. I cant and wont take credit for other peoples work. |

Gambo:
I currently use Ankit's Career Average Database to import players for my Alltime Allstar Association dynasty league. Is this new one superior to Ankit's Career Average Database? If so, in what ways? |

EC,
If your already using a database and your after ~1940 than you really shouldnt bother using mine cuz guys will be missing from the imports. Though until ~1960 they are alot fewer. As for the the Gambo v Ankit superiority question, there really is no way to answer that. This project is a culmunation of lots of work and by both of us. 3,5 is essentially just an edited version of Ankit's Career Average DB with the following things added back in 1. Everyplayer 2. Miinor league seasons based on Career Averages (players import the year of their professional debut) 3. Years which players missed Just as essentially Ankit's is an edited version of the Lahman DB. It really all just comes down to what your tastes are. If you want alot of "real" players in your league (many of which you've never heard of) use mine but if your focus is on a smaller scale use Ankits. Basically for 80% of your players there will be little or difference between the two beyond the year the player imports and at what level he does. |

Great work on this database!
![]() One thing I noticed is Bryn Smith is on Baltimore for 1979 and '80 when he should be with Montreal. It is true he began his professional career with the O's, but they traded him to the Expos in 1977. "December 7, 1977: Traded by the Baltimore Orioles with Rudy May and Randy Miller to the Montreal Expos for Don Stanhouse, Joe Kerrigan, and Gary Roenicke." His ID is smithbr01 |
