Need a few photos for my Alltime Allstar Association
Thanks to Tiger Fan and Jeff Olsen, I have just about all of the photos I need for my Alltime Allstar Association.
I would appreciate photos of the following: Dolph Luque Baby Doll Jacobson Bill Dailey Hank Severeid Fresco Thompson Frank Linzy Dick Lundy (Negro star) Chino Smith (Negro star) I have pictures of these two, but they are not good poses. Pete Rose Kirby Puckett I have gone through everything on JoeRock's site...could have missed some of these, but don't think I did. Your help would be very much appreciated. |

jdew, I really, really, really owe you.
First you make me 125 fictional uniforms for my two fictional leagues...absolutely brilliant work...and now you complete my photopack with great hard-to-get photos. It is amazing you found Dick Lundy...and I didn't think Bill Dailey would be found either...he is one of my alltime favorite baseball players...he played for the Mobile Bears in the 50's when I was the rightfield ballboy in the bullpen...Sadly, he had a very good, but very short major league career. I tried to find all of these...I spent two days going through all the photospacks at JoeRock's. Those colorized photos by Portrait Matt Fulling are great...along with all the great sets by Tiger Fan, Jeff Olsen, etc. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Hi Eugene,
Other than Dick Lundy, the pics were just in my photos folder... the other guys found them. I've found a lot (mostly players from the 20's and 30's, some pretty obscure) but those were "finds" by the other guys. My thanks to them for doing so. That was the only pic of Dick Lundy I could find. I couldn't find anything at all for Chino Smith... too bad there wasn't a George Brace for the Negro Leagues. Yeah, Portrait Matt's work is amazing. Its too bad he stopped doing them. I remember him writing it took him 45 minutes or so a picture I can see why! They certainly add a nice touch. What amazes me is how tough some of those early ballplayers looked.... |
