Catobase2006 Interest

As a lot of you have noticed, there has been discussion both here and in GQ about remaking the beloved Catobase program. The idea right now is to:
  • Lay the groundwork for Catobase functionality with OOTP2006
  • Attempt to implement compatability with Version 6X (and earlier hopefully)
  • Everything will be open source
I'd like to get a tally of who has interest in assisting with this project. It won't be easy but I think it will be both a valuable and rewarding experience for those involved. To keep it simple, I'll start. If you all could just follow my lead, I'd appreciate it.

Interest Level: High
Programming experience?: a little, mostly using C
Database experience?: Access only, have started messing around with MySQL
Reason you want to join?: As I said when I started the initial post, Catobase as it is right now is fantastic, only flawed. With the experience on these boards, I think a group of us could make it much better.
Expected area you can help?: Willing to help anywhere and learn whatever I need to get stuff done. Experience in project management and a highly technical background.
Anything else?: Only that I hope the interest level is where I think it is.

Feel free to elaborate anywhere you think I may have missed.

How can you implement this for OOTP's new version? We have no idea of the output the new game will give us.
Therefore, how can you design a utility for use with it?

Exactly correct. At the very miminum the group will be able to set functional and user requirements along with design goals for OOTP2006.

Well what the ****, why not?

Interest Level: High
Programming experience?: PHP, ASP, some ColdFusion, Perl and J2EE
Database experience?: MySQL is my main flav. Have some experieince with Oracle and SQL Server. And of course Access....if you consider that a DB
Reason you want to join?: Why not? Been an idea to get a Catolike product that is truely web-based for quite some time. WIth Markus SQL feature opening the door for folks that are not familiar with C++, it's a whole new world
Expected area you can help?: Everywhere except design. That part I suck ass at.
Anything else?: Nah that's about it for now since it won't really get to speed until march when it's released.

On a side note I'd like to add that we should at least have a design aspect down by then, have it easy to use, and more importantly, easy to modify. One of CATO's biggest kicks was it's issues with user-friendliness from the circles that I've travelled, so that's something to consider.

Interest Level: Medium
Programming experience?: C/C++/C#, Java, VB, Ruby on Rails, .Net Stuff, etc...
Database experience?: mysql (only with Ruby on Rails though), SQL, Access
Reason you want to join?: I've long considered joining an open source project just for the experience of helping develop some piece of software with a group of people rather than alone. Plus, Catobase is one of the things that makes OOTP6 great.
Expected area you can help?: Programming - definitely not design.
Anything else?:

There we go, the project has been regsitered on SourceForge under the name CatoBase2006. They can take up to 48 hours to review/approve the project, so I'll know in a couple of days what they say. When I hear from them, I'll post here again.

Opinions?

Either or is fine by me. I would suggest that there be a consensous as to what style of programming is chosen. It looks like most folks are in the C++ background which is good. However I'd like to have a web-based version of this as well if Markus's additions will allow it, which I'd look at volenteering for once it comes out.

I'd also recommened that some consensous be done for getting the "front end" done up while we're waiting, do we have anyone that is good at doing that at all?
