Does Catobase work with 6.5a and if so how... I am getting all kinds of error problems (and I noticed a lot of other people are).

Am I best to revert back to the 6.12 patch.

Any help is appreciated as this is a great utility.

If Catobase is your number one priority, go back to 6.12. With 6.5a or b it's hit or miss at best.

CATO works fine with 6.5 if you don't mind editing your "ltrans" file.

Here is my problem with Catobase.. I am not sure if it is because I am using 6.5, but here are the errors I get.

I am using OOTP 6.5a...

1) When I go to import stats, the first error I get is a Type Mismatch error that stats the abbreviations of the teams for the current year are new and do not match the previous years. Why does this happen and how do I fix it. It does say I can continue and fix later.

2) The next error is a Run Time Error "The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key or relationship. Change the date in the field or fields that contain duplicate dates, remove the index or redefine the indexes to permit duplicate entries and try again"

I have not seen this error before and I have a couple of years already in my database (which were inputted with no problems)...

Is this a normal error and how can I fix it.

Nuggett,

First things first, check to make sure that none of your team abbreviations in the game are the same.

e.g. Carolina = CAR and Caracas = CAR

If that's the case, you'll need to alter any same abbreviations to be different.

If that's not the problem, check back. I'm no pro, but I know that error.

That makes sense, but here are a couple of other questiosn...

1. When starting an import, should each year directed to its own individual folder.

2. If you have Baltimore in one year and Baltimore in another year, shouldn't he abbreviation for both be BAL and BAL.

3. When looking at the team info and Code numbers, should #1 ecah year be the same team (if #1 in 2003 is Anaheim, #1 in 2004 should be Anaheim)... When I get this error the teams are out of sync from previous years.

Thanks again for any help... If this does not make sense, pelase let me know.

Did you edit anything in the team names or abbreviations. It appears that you have a null or blank at the end of the team name or abbreviation. If you did not open the team at the team setup then this could not happen. But I would go to each team and simply reenter the abbreviation with no spaces or blanks at the end......

If you did nothing then the error should not be there. Yes I mean to go to the team setup and re-enter the team name and abbreviation at that screen within the game. A null character at the end causes problems because to a computer "THIS" is not "THIS ".

This info is if you are creating your leagues. If you are using a roster set then the issue is with the set. CATOBASE does not change info it reads it. Also the game does not change TEAMID without user intervention or an import. IS this file imported each year or did you change database??? IF so that is where the problem is. I don't use roster sets so I could not help you with this....

I will try that, but liek I said I did nothing to change the ID numbers... I have been using a roster set, and import from one version of OOTP to another (currently using 6.5)... The only thing I can think is in my last import it changed the Team ID numbers.

When you say change the number, do you mean in the game or in Catobase... If it is in the game, where do I do this...

Thanks for any help... This could be the problem and get me back on track.

Think I know the problem, but do not know how the fix it...

The Teams' IDs in the first 2 season are consistent, but in my current year (an upgarde to 6.5), the ID's are different. This must have happened in the import to the 6.5 version. For example my Original Team ID #1 was Anaheim, now Team #1 is Baltimore...

Is there a way in the game that I can manipulate the Team IDs to make Anaheim, #1, etc... If this is not the case, how can this be done.
