A little help from the techno-savvy
I have a small problem.
I have 'inherited' a collection of .txt files which are lined up fine, but I can't work out how to import them into excel, so I can sort and modify them. They are set-up with spaces between them, so that they come through straight when inside the < code > .... < /code > tags, but they aren't tab-delimited or comma-delimited. Any ideas? |

When you import them into Excel, there should be the option to do "fixed width" instead of delimited. That will allow you in the next step to define your column widths.
If not when you first bring the file in to Excel, you could bring all the data into a single column of cells and then use the menu item "Data / Text to Columns..." to parse it out by fixed width.
