Won't be of much help, but I still recommend doing logos mostly in a vector drawing program over doing them mostly in a photo-editing program. I find the former to be much more useful (and, importantly, resolution independent).

I would much prefer to use illustrator or a program like it, but I can't really afford it. My logos are pretty simplistic compared to what you, Cuss, and Dbacks do, and not nearly as original as them, but I still have a lot of fun doing them. Hopefully one day I can step up to the next level.

I have Illustrator but I have never used it. (yet)

As for your logos I think they are as good as anybodys.
You can spit them out very fast and they are simple and uncluttered
A lot of people compliment your work.

I'm only speaking for myself here but when it comes to my ring/shoulder patch logos I take a lot longer time to make them, some people want logos right now, some will wait.
Iv'e had a few PM's requesting whole leagues done with that style which may be the niche my style fills. Could be a love it hate it kinda thing.

I think your logos are very unique and add a lot to the forum. If you get proficient at Illustrator, look out.

I think they look really good man. You picked really good colors and worked the logos in nicely. I'm not sure how the font will hold up with the various size changes, but they look good to me.

I was going to put this in the other thread, and then decided to put it in here in case anyone in the future needs it:

http://www.pagecurve.com/tutorial.php?id=11_0_1_0

It's a tutorial on how to do interlocking letters.

Thanks knuckler! That's exactly what I was looking for. I assume that if you add stroke features to the text or duplicate layers to each text layer, the principle would be the same.

knuckler: Is there any chance you can send me the .psd you were talking about in another thread? (which I can't seem to find at the moment)

I'm going to attempt to mess around with GIMP for some of my leagues and a starting point would be nice. (The baseball .psd is cool as well.)

Here's another template in PSD format. The baseball is better I think.

Nice logo btw.

While I predominantly use a vector program (CorelDraw) for all my logos, as with 'art' in general, there are numerous tools to pick from and in the right hands, the artist can generate great work. For that matter, each artist must select the tool he feels most comfortable to work with.

The reasons I prefer a vector program is that I can literally start from scratch, meaning I draw many of the objects in my logos, and can create the logo in any size (resolution) without losing detail and sharpness. A paint program (e.g., Photoshop or PhotoPaint) lose sharpness and tend to become pixelated if creating an object from scatch. Having said that, those same programs can generate great results if utilizing existing objects into a logo, though resolution may be limited by the stock object.

And has been said time and time again, art is in the eye of the beholder. It's great to see the many contributions from various members here ... together, we all become better!

Happy logo-ing!!!!

Here's a couple of logos I created for a fantasy hockey league I participate in ... again, generated in CorelDraw. Some of the objects were inspired by other logos (real and fictional) ... I've taken liberties to either re-create or edit them to fit the team nickname.
