Dynasty / Solo League Logos
Thank you all in advance for reading this and helping out... I am a better story writer that Graphic Artist - This league will be a solo/dynasty league it will contain a website (most likely a blog)...
Premise: Baseball is recorded back (as accuratly as can be expected for the times) as 1845.... In 1857 the "New York" style game formed a League NABBP - This league was made up by up to 400 teams (including California and Louisiana) - Since most the teams were from Brooklyn it would get tough to have sixteen Brooklyn / Newark teams - So I am going to write a seperate backstory and what I am going to use is the twelve teams that competed between 1869 & '71 as the basis for this starting point. Though the actual league starting date will be '45. Knuckler - You did some logo's for me recently for my PBBPA league (they were excellent) - Those were the EXACT feel of what I am looking for - That was for an online league that I am running... These are going to be for a dynasty league which will be blogged and possibly put into a book format as time goes on - If anybody wants to take a shot at these it would be greatly appreciated... Here is the list (you guys choose the colors) Philadelphia Athletics* Brooklyn Atlantics * Cincinnati Red Stockings* Chicago White Stockings* Brooklyn Eckfords* Troy Union * Forest City * New York Mutuals* Washington Olympics * Washington Nationals Baltimore Marylands * Fort Wayne Kekiongas ![]() ![]() This woodcut from an 1865 Harper's Weekly shows the nine from the Atlantic of Brooklyn. Here is a link if you need one for some basic information: http://www.super70s.com/Baseball/Years/1869/ Any help would be greatly appreciated..... IF you are looking to get a feel for what baseball was like in those days, you might read the novel, "If I Never Get Back" by Darryl Brock which gives a great account of life and baseball in those days as it follows the Cincinnati Reds baseball club. One of my favorite books.
