Heads up : Flags in OOTPB2006
You've hopefully seen the new OOTPB2006 screenshots and you'll notice the game is using flags.
The proposed format for game flags will be 18 x 12 and in PNG format If you have any other questions relating to flags, I'm here to help! |

That said, it is a distinct possibility that someone can decide to do a fictional sim in Harry Turtledove's fictional universe, or try to have a more accurate 1978 simulation with the Soviet Union intact, versus being splintered into its constituant republics. I won't judge you and you won't judge me, hmm, OK? |

Unless anyone knows where exsiting vector based flag images are available, it would seem that only those with CorelDraw or some other vector based program would be needed to create these images. Please correct me if I'm wrong. |

http://www.odci.gov/cia/publications/factbook/ CIA has a lot of flags as a reference. They seem to be GIF's. Last edited by Raidergoo; 05-09-2006 at 10:35 AM. |

Photoshop generates an image in little units called pixels; the larger the image you're working with, the more pixels it can contain and therefore the more clarity, sharpness and definition it can support. But as the image gets smaller, it reduces the total number of pixels and therefore the amount of information that it can retain - resulting in jagged, indistinct blobs of colour. Vector based programs like CorelDraw create images as a mathematical expression, making file size irrelavent. A tiny image can contain as much detail and sharpness as a large image. File format only comes into play when you have completed working on an image and do a "save as" at the end. Thus it appears that vector based programs are the avenue of choice for generating the needed flags for our baseball universes. In the OOTP community, I believe that Cuss, La Grande Orange, Dbacks and StorminZ currently use vector based programs. Once again, please correct me if I'm off base on any of my explanations.
