I know this is probably a no-brainer but I thought I would have a little fun with this.
I am trying to decide what name to use for the Boston team in my fictional league. Boston Eagles? or Boston Shamrocks? I don't want to use minutemen or patriots because the New York team is called the Nationals and that would be too similar (patriotic theme etc.). So what do you guys think? Thanks in advance for the input!

This really shouldn't be posted in two places, imo, but I'd go with the Shamrocks because there's already the BC Eagles

Boston is a wonderful Irish town. Really enjoyed my visit two years ago.
Voted for Shamrocks. I got the thrill of a lifetime...to go to Fenway Park for a game. The year before I had met a baseball photographer in Birmingham at the annual Rickwood Classic (the Birmingham Barons play a regular season game every year at the oldest minor league park in the country to raise funds for the Rickwood Museum) and he told me if I was ever in Boston to let him know and I could use his tickets. So I accepted his generous offer. Along about the seventh inning, my wife told me to look at the scoreboard. I couldn't believe what I saw...my name on the scoreboard...it said "A very special Red Sox welcome to Eugene Church". PR people then came to my seat and gave me a Red Sox gift pack...including a Red Sox cap. The baseball photographer had arranged it all. Great guy. Yeah, it was one of the greatest days in my life. He also took a beautiful picture of the scoreboard with my name on it and sent it to me in the mail. Last edited by Eugene Church; 06-10-2006 at 05:39 PM. |

I know the name's not correct but here's a great Boston logo I often use in fictional leagues.
I don't remember who made it though
