Michigan/Ohio League: Looking for logos
Hey, I'm not a normal poster on the board here, but a very regular reader (what else are you supposed to do at work?). I also posted this message on the OOTPBB2006 board as well. Anyways, I am a very avid reader of the Keystone League, and absolutely loved the logos knuckler created for him and I was looking to see if I could have something similar done for my Michigan-Ohio League. I like the more traditional, old-fashioned logos. The league starts in 1940. I am thinking about posting the details and followings of the league in the dynasty reports, and the only reason I'm hesitant is for fear of not having enough time to consistently update it, but the number of updates Big Six does for the Keystone League is certainly something I could do. But anyways, if knuckler, or anyone else interested would like to help me out, here are the teams.
Michigan: Ann Arbor Democrats Grand Rapids Blue Lakers Kalamazoo Bells Lansing Capitals Traverse City Cherries Mackinac Trolleys Sault Ste. Marie White Lakers Iron Mountain Miners Ohio: Toledo Admirals Dayton Pilots Akron Red Irons Canton Terriers Columbus Archers Youngstown Black Irons Chillicothe Indians Zanesville Engineers Thanks in advance! Thanks a bunch knuckler! These look great so far. I was thinking the anchor would be a good symbol for one of the Laker teams but didn't even think it could be used for the Admirals as well. Certainly, Sault Ste. Marie leaves the ability for the interesting option of just the SSM letters for a logo. But I certainly trust you will come up with something great, thanks again.

If you prefer the anchor for Grand Rapids, let me know.

Again, these look great. As far as the anchor, if you are having a tough time coming up with an idea for Grand Rapids, by all means, go ahead and switch, but keeping it for Toledo is fine by me.

Wow, I love that league logo. It fits perfectly. I'm not sure if I am going to name it the Michigan-Ohio BL though. I'm trying to key in on the rivalry between the two states and I've had a roughtime coming up with a good league name. Rivalry BL, Border War BL, Michigan-Ohio Baseball War, but none of them I'm too keen on. I may just keep it Michigan-Ohio BL so I can use the logo though. Thanks for the hard work and effort.

Hope this works for you. If you come up with a different league name, I can alter that logo so that it has the new name.

I think I am going to keep the Michigan-Ohio BL name, I can't think of anything better. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.....the new logos look great, I LOVE the Youngstown logo, almost Yankees-ish, thus I am already rooting against them. I was wondering how the Trolleys logo would turn out, and it turned out great, pretty much spot on. Oh and do you have the color specs on these logos so I can match it up properly in the game, for the lettering. Also, noticed a lot of the logos have red, which is fine, just want to make sure I have some color balance in the league. For Kalamazoo, I was leaning towards orange for the simple fact that the team name is for this fabulous brewery in my hometown. And their summer beer, Oberon, might be my favorite beer and it has an orange logo, thus I have this color connection in my brain. (http://www.bellsbeer.com/ for those interested
) But if you like a different color scheme that's fine. Definitely would like a green-dominated team as well if possible. God, I sound so demanding. Whatever you come up with is fine by me, they all look great so far.

Decided to switch it around for you. Here's a different take on Toledo. I'll try to slow down on the red for you, sorry about that.
