It'll take all of the information about the league, teams, players and parks and export them to CSV files. It makes life easier on 3rd party utility makers like Cato.

Is there a way to make changes and then import them back in?

Not with this set, no. The set that Markus makes through the game can be imported/exported.

CSV in game vs this one ?

I had held off using utilities in OOTP4 as I knew 5 was coming.. Can someone help me understand what this does vs what is already in the OOTP5 program as a CSV exporter ? Is it essentially the format being differerent ? And that format being important to other utilities as seems to be suggested above in this thread ? If that's the case, I assume new utilities will try to use the in game format for ease of use ?

Last, does a CSV allow data to be exported so all players in an initial draft can be easily compared ?

Any help would be appreciated.

The game exports general, ratings and roster information. This will export that, plus stats, team & team stats, league, and park information as well.

To compare for an initial draft, I would think the rating export from the game would work just fine.

Can you export players from one league and import them to another?

You can not import with this export set. You might be able to do that with the exported version from the game though. I'd try asking that in the General forum.

With all the hustle and bustle, I forgot to ask him. Now that the patch is released, he's probably taking a break, but I'll see what I can find out.

Well, I haven't played around with the exports from the game all that much, but since you can import back with that set, I would assume you could do what you are trying to do. I just don't know for sure.

In your exporter's output, when a column header has "___(##)", do you know what the number between the parantheses means?

It's the # of the column. It comes in handy when trying to write a program that reads these files.
