The Lahman database is available in either Access or generic (CSV) form. The database can be opened/saved using any word processing or spreadsheet software (Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Quattro Pro,etc...). OOTP is able to read the CSV files and import (assign ratings/talents from) historical MLB seasons (1871 - 2002).

How does the importer work? In other words, how do I find the database once I download it? In advance, you might be wondering, and yes I am stupid.

If I can do it anyone can. Create a folder called c:stats. Download the database into it. Start the game, create historical league and go from there. There was a great tutorial thread here somewhere. It might have been from Tigerfan. Search for that.
