Pinstriped Fictional Player Template

Here is the first fictional player template.
It has both blue and black hats and undershirts. This how you use this template.

For making your own team template
Open the template
Paste your logo and duplicate the layer in comes in on.
Move it to the top layer and resize to 8%, drop a 3 pixel shadow and move it to the top of the hat.
Take the duplicated layer move the layer under the shirt wrinkle layer.
Resize it 60% and move the logo over the chest and drop a 3 pixel shadow.
You can also add it as a watermarked background by placing the layer in the back and reducing the opacity to 50%
I have left samples of all of these for your guidance.

For adding pictures
Open Facegen and align the player directly looking at you.
Get his look and expression as you wish, and screen capture this expression.
Open this file in Photoshop and use the magic wand to pick the background, and then inverse your selection to get his face. Use the rubberstamp to overwrite the SI on his forehead and then smudge any trace out and copy your selection.
Paste the selection in between the undershirt and neck layers
Resize the face 22% and orient it onto the top of his head. (The % may vary given the face size)
Turn on and off your preferred neck hat and logo layers
Adjust colorations using the adjust/variation tool as needed to get the color right and then save as the bmp you want to save it as.

Here is a sample from the template

I'm not making the facepack I'm just making the template. I encourage others to use it if they wish.

Well this will deffinately help me out, I want to create a pic for everyone on an active roster for a 16 team league. ....... thats 400 pics!!!!! plus will probably end up doing some for top prospects on on an active roster yet. So this is going to take awhile but thanks to this template I should save a few hours thanks again.

*p.s. Once I finish if someone is interested I would be happy to upload my pics to a server .......but a little warning not sure when that will be

Use the black hat layer and then use /image/adjust/variation (at least on Photoshop 5)

This allow you to change the color (ie make it more red and lighter) and retain the color gradients.

just a guess, but could you use paste from the edit menu, rather than the hot key. The hot key might be "paste as a new layer".

see if that helps,

So, if we make this a standard template, could we then have a standard camera placement for facegen?

That way, a face pack would consist of a number of faces that were lined up right for this kind of uniform picture, and you just got to fix 'em!

I figure I'd probably only use it for the marquee players and just name them accordingly. You know, bob_smith or whatnot. Then I could have P1-Pwhatever for the people who were scrubs.

Also, how do you get the Facegen demo to get that stupid initials off the forehead? Or has someone found a gray-market copy or something...?

It's actually easier if you paste them in different layers because you can dissiminate between thing if you want them on the same layer make just those two layers visible and then merge visible.

In Photoshop 6+ I think the resize numeric value is in toolbar at the top of the screen. Don't drag and resize because the head shape gets distorted.

Unfortunately you can't save any positions with Facegen but you can make multiple players at the same position if you screen capture them without turning off the file (ie make a face, screen capture, make new face, screen capture)

I get rid of the SI by using the rubberstamp. It allows you to paint the same image found in another location on the screen. By copying adjacent areas on the forehead you can wipe most of the SI away. Afterwords, use blur to smooth the forehead.

Just the things I use, hope they help!

From the default position, I took an Alt-Printscreen of the window, set up an action in Photoshop that automatically pastes off the clipboard, cuts it, moves it over and resizes it for use with my template. I have it set up as a shortcut, so it's just alt-ps, alt-tab, alt-f2, save, alt-tab and start over again.

Also, I find the SI is hidden by my hat.
