1988 setup file

Here is a set of files I made for a league I'm starting in 1988. I used an old Elias Baseball Analyst to get more accurate lefty/righty data, fixed name capitalization, and adjusted fielding ratings of a lot of players to make them more like their real-life selves.

These are csv files that can be used on any 1988 league imported from Lahman 5.0. Just create a historical league starting in 1988, unzip these files into the league directory, and follow the instructions in the text file included.

I'm planning on working on a 1992 file as well. That one would have an even higher level of accuracy. I'd base the players' fielding ratings on their Strat-O-Matic cards, which I have for that season. I have them for '88 as well, but I was lazy and mostly worked from memory. I'd like to do a lot of seasons, but I only have split stats for select years, and nothing from before 1988. If anyone knows of a good source, just get word to me and I'll use it.

Awesome work! Besides Great Escape Baseball I've been doing replays of various seasons. This will be my next season. Thank you very much

It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you.

intestinal fortitude huh??? I think this setup is great... 1988 is such a great year to start... right before the future stars enter the league

That's why I picked it. Well, that and because it's the first season for which I have split stats. I actually would have preferred to do 1987 because the offensive explosion that occurred that year produced stats similar to modern ones.
