Announcing the 100 Years of MLB Almanac for OOTP5

The trio of MrWorkrate, Rolen17, and myself have teamed together to bring the OOTP community the COMPLETE 100 years of MLB history for your almanacs. We'll be creating files showing ALL past MVP's, Cy Young winners, Rookie of the Years, League Leaders, Golden Glove Winners, 6+ hits in a game, 3+ hrs in a game, 15+ k's in a game, no hitters, 50+ hr's, 20+ wins, AND even individual TEAM HISTORY pages complete back to 1903. By estimates, we're about 10% done right now, but we'll be plugging away at this in order to add the entire history of MLB to your 2003 season.

The ultimate plan then, is to combine this info with AngelinOF's career leader board and then the most recent version of TM's rosters, along with the best Stadium pack, and REAL MLB Records in order to create a ONE DOWNLOAD pre made MLB.lg folder for everyone to enjoy. If you've got any info or files or help to offer, please post here or contact one of us and we'll see where you can fit in.

Currently, you can begin to see where we're heading with this process by downloading the info here, at my old thread or you can simply wait a week or so (probably more the 'so') and have the complete history.

Thumbs up

WOW. Not only will that simplify things for everyone, but also that will make it a whole lot easier of a process for new users to get into the game quickly, and whenever someone asks "How do I get things like the real MLB" people can just point them to ONE download.

Also, the 100 year Almanac will be simply awesome. It would be awesome even without the part about putting everything into one .lg folder.

Thanks VERY much, I look forward to it.

When one guy creates an add-on for this game it is awesome, but when three get together... no pointy heads here!

Well you guys had to know I was going to do something. Working with Phesta and MrWorkRate so far has been very good. I think that this will be an outstanding project once completed.

Bigphesta- I was thinking about working on doing some research into updated player history files for current/historical players (accurate first hit/homer, past awards, ETC.) Any interest in combining that into what you're doing? Or are you already planning on doing that?

TLB Orioles, come find me on AIM, eingram91. I would like to talk to you about this stuff. I have already started working on this and have a couple of teams done already. I would be very happy to have you assist me in that project as well.

Wow...I could see 100 years of baseball.

I could even see Team history.

But individual player history?!?!...that's insane.

I'll be looking forward to it!

<orgasm>

Okay, maybe too much information for ya.

Oh, quick question....I'm assuming this would need all the retired player files if you did all-time leaderboards and such, and since this is the case are you also including in this massive file every player inducted in the Hall of Fame? That would be absolutely amazing if you did.

And it'd be even better if you were able to do it in order of how they were inducted.

Either way, great project, and thanks for doing it.

Impossible to do, the game puts the players in whatever order they want. When I originally created the HOF fame I intended to have the players inducted in the order that they were originally so I created a custom league in 1936, imported the orignal hall of fame inductees and let them get added to the retired.dat file. In 1937 I added the next set of inductees that had enough ab/ip to carry over to the retired.dat file and the game placed them in what ever order it deemed necessary players were shifted depending on what their last active year was so Cy Young was placed as the 1st player even though he was the last player added in 1937.

The only way to get it in the actual order would be to add a stat of some type for that season since the game uses this to determine its "induction" year and in the case of some players this would cause a good majority of their stats to be erased since they are 50+ years apart.
