FYI, I had experienced some problems in a league where I used the editor to create a new manager career. I cannot say for certain if the problems occurred for a different reason or not but it might be best to stick with the Retire option to create new manager careers. The problems that were experienced had to do with the team acting as if I didn't have control over it in regards to shuffling around the minor leagues as well as working with depth charts and such. It would not allow me to click -n- drag players but instead opened up their records as if I was looking at a computer-controlled team. This might have to do with the fact that I was fired from a team then started a new career with the same team. It might have been different if I selected a new team instead of the same one.

Also, after officially retiring my manger and starting a new career the correct way I was actually able to select the previous team that I was just fired from as an option. So far so good.

In other words, beware of my advice in the posts above.

Crap! I ran the utililty and everything but then I tried to turn manager mode back on before exiting.. now I think I lost my manager career. Being the idiot that I am I didn't back up the file first.. so did I lose my career for good?

jollytacoman14: You probably haven't lost anything yet. I'll send you a private message explaining how to recover.

To bad you can't change the level you are playing at. I have a league I'm at 2014 in playing easy level, and I really want to play average...

Cuss16: I just downloaded it and was able to extract the two files. I also ran it and it worked, so your download may have gotten corrupted.

Has anyone used this utility to alter the overall difficulty of the game that was set when creating a new manager career? If so, how did it work out? If not, does anyone have any insight as to whether or not this would negatively affect a league?

Thanks.

Unfortunately you can't edit the difficulty.

Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't looked into it yet because I figured someone around here would know already and sure enough. Thanks again.

Actually, I just did a test edit and it is possible to change the difficulty setting. I could add this option to the manager mode utility - give me a day or two (or three).

The reason I said you should not play any games with MM turned of is simply because I don't know if there are any negative consequences if you do so.

You could do a test by first backing up your league and then turn off MM and play the All-Star game and then turn it back on and see what happens. The potential problem with that test is that you may not notice any negative consequences right away, so you may think it's OK when it may not be.

Personally, I would take the chance myself. If you do, let us know what happens. But don't forget to backup first!

i have not seen any negative consequences yet; however, like you said, I may not see it for a while

i'll keep you updated on that league file - thank you very much for such a great utility
