Fictional Ballpark Package w/dat files

I have created a Fictional Ballpark Package that combines the Fictional Ballpark pictures created by Henry, Dream Teams, and Teflon Skies, along with the park.dat and parkconfig.dat files to use with those stadiums. The park data was compiled using the excellent Fictional Ballpark Calculator created by Dark Horse. Below I added the Excel file I used to create the stadiums within the game. You must change the extension to .xls to read it.

The problem here is that I really dont have anywhere to post it.

I had to leave the pictures as .JPG because of the size of the .BMP files (26 MB compared to 3 MB). I may convert these and create a file with the pictures as .BMP, but I will need to do that from work since I only have a 56k dialup connection here, and it wouldnt handle a 26 MB upload very well (3 MB is hard and long enough).

Below is the readme I included in the file. If youd be interested in hosting it, me know and Ill try and send it your way. Again, because of the sloooowness of my dialup connection, I can not just send these out to whomever wants them.

readme:

First I want to thank the great stadium makers out there ! This package contains the .jpg pictures and the park.dat and parkconfig.dat file for 30 of the fictional ballparks that have been created. The stadium dimensions, taken from the designers notes when available, and wall heights have been added to the "Fictional Ballpark Calculator" to come up with the numbers.

Because of the size of the .BMP files, I had to leave the pitcures as .JPG. These need to be converted to .BMP in order for them to work !

After adding the stadium data in the calculator, I noticed averages (I think thats what it would be called) was over 100 in many places. I randomly adjusted some of the parks, so now all 30 parks equal out to 100 in all catagories.

The following parks have been included, along with the file for the Ballpark calculator with the data I used:

AtlantiCoast Stadium - Henry
Battlefield Park - Henry
Braxton Heights Park - Henry
Clifton Park - Henry
Highfield Park - Henry
Lost Nation Field - Henry
Metropolis Stadium - Henry
Metropolitan Stadium - Henry
Mill Street Park - Henry
Palisades Park - Henry
Pelican Park - Henry
Philips Park - Henry
Pioneer Park - Henry
Robert Coover Stadium - Henry
Skyline Park - Henry
CrownBank Park - Henry
Diamond Field - Dream Teams
Delta Grounds - Dream Teams
Sterling Field - Dream Teams
Titans Park - Dream Teams
Mammoth Stadium - Dream Teams
Easton Ballyard - Dream Teams
Wimbley Field - Dream Teams
Knickerbocker Stadium - Dream Teams
Robins Park - Dream Teams
Kraft Stadium - Teflon Skies
Hanford Stadium - Teflon Skies
Lexus Park - Teflon Skies
Bridge Street Park - Teflon Skies
Smalltown Park (old League Park) - Teflon Skies

I would also like to thank Dark Horse for the excellent Fictional Ballpark Calculator used to come up with the stadium data.

Some other notes:
All foul territories, turf/grass, and carry numbers have been left at zero. All weather and wind directions were also left as is.

To Install: After saving the .JPG files as .BMP (MSPaint will allow you to do this), copy all of the stadium bitmap files into the GRAPHICS folder of you OOTP5 install. MAKE A COPY of you original PARK.DAT and PARKCONFIG.DAT files, then unzip the 2 files contained in this .zip file into your default OOTP5 directory (example - C:\OOTP5)

***** As a disclaimer, I will not be responsible for any kind of corruption or whatever that might happen after using these files. MAKE A BACKUP !!!! *****

It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you.

Adventureran has agreed to host these files for me. They should be up sometime soon. He may even convert the pictures to .bmp format and upload it as well

Ok, the ballpark pack can be downloaded from:

www.adventureran.com

in the OOTP Mods section. The file is named FicBallparks.zip (3.3MB).

If anyone else wants to host this file, be my guest !

(and to think I don't even really play much fictional stuff. But Im getting more into it )

you can submit them to baseballsimcentral.com/ as well, no charge for them hosting anything. There is an ootp5 section.

Would you mind including the coordinates for the stadiums for those? I appreciate the package and everything, it really helps. But not including the coordinates kind of renders the stadiums useless.

I didn't create the ballparks, just packaged them up and ran them through the ballpark calculator. I just use the default coordinates, but I do notice some of them are a little low. Perhaphs the actual creators of the stadiums can give us good coordinates ?

Teflon Skies put together a nice package for his stadiums that comes with .dat files also. Might want to try that one out also

Nukester -

Love the stadiums - thanks for packaging them.

One problem - when I converted them to bitmaps all went well. I can see the parks in my paint program. However, when I put them into my league file, I can only see about a third of them. When I go to edit the parks, their images don't come up (again, one-third do and 2/3 don't). And when I go to the team setup page to change the names of my franchises, the pics aren't in there either.

Any idea why and how I can correct it?

Thanks!

Gee, I totally forgot I did this. All I really did was run the stadiums through the ballpark calculator to get the park factors, then zipped them up. Thats why the coordinates were not really done. Im not sure why some of the pictures would show and why some would not. I could check it out, but you might want to check out some of the other park packages that have been done since. I think Teflon Skies, or Henry, or Dream Teams, or someone has put together a park package fairly recently.

Put them in a folder called "Stad" or "Stadium" or something like that...
Then in the ballpark editor Type in "Stad\polo.bmp" that should do it...don`t forget the .bmp part..

Another Ballpark Images Question

lgkeeper,

I looked at the file you sent me and there's nothing wrong with it. It has to be something you did in setting things up.

Try doing it again from scratch... put the files in the graphics folder (or a graphics\stad\ folder). Then, on the ballpark screen, change the "In FIeld Picture" to the name of the image you want... like "graphics\stad\atlanticcoaststadium.bmp". Sometimes the names are too long, so you'll have to shorten them to maybe "atlantic.bmp".

Then go to the team setup screen and change the name of the home park to the stadium name.
