Was there an error message? I never had it crash and delete the files. Part of the backup is to give the file a temp name and then rename it back to its original name.
Sounds like you might have to start over.

Cato,
using the ver 5 for the first time, I encounteres this problem: Everything worked fine until the end of the stats importing phase when a box appeared saying Application-defined or object-defined error. , the program continued asking for the dates, after that a box FILE ALREADY OPEN popped up. When I then clicked on ENTER EDIT ALLSTARS this fatal error message appeared: Run Time Error "-214721900 (80040e14)" Syntax Error in query expression "Master-PlayerID In (SELECT playerID FROM Batting WHERE Year= AND Lg "") I have a 2 league 16 team league and try to import its first season.. Do you have any idea what`s wrong here? Thank you in advance!

khucke -
One thing it might be, is that my program isn't very "internationally" friendly. No offense or anything, I'm just not sure how to make it like other date and number formats. So, if you have windows setup to use Germany regional settings, that could cause problems. The program expects the date to be in the 'm/d/yy' format and Germany uses 'd/m/yy'. Also, the fact the German settings use commas as decimal places and periods as thousand separators (US settings are opposite) is also a problem. That being said, you can zip up and send me the data files (the 15 CSV files and the 3 HTML files) and I'll take a look.

I have US Windows settings and never had problems with the previous History versions. I´ll check my setting though and try one more time before I send you the files
Also has the date to be written 04/06 or does 4/6 work too? Thanks for your response! |

Jeff,
Nevermind - I got it to work finally. I'm not sure what I differently than last time - I must have forgot to run the park.exe in ComminshJoe's utilities afterall. Something I did do differently - I edited the player, team, and park *.exe files to port directly to the OOTP History data folder. Originally, I had sent the *.csv files to another folder, then did a copy/paste to the OOTP History data folder. Anyway - thanks for your help khucke and, Jeff - as always - thanks again for providing an invaluable utility for all us OOTP fanatics!! |
