It depends what you're trying to change it FROM to wav. If it's mp3, Winamp has a wav output option. If it's something else, post what you're trying to convert from.

a little off topic, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me a good utility to edit MP3 (I have to remove the hidden track from Radio Scilence)

I have an editor, but I don't believe you can use it on MP3s. You have to convert the file into wav. format. It helps me shorten files, such as live recordings so that I can fit it on a 74 min. CD.
However, if you're looking for something more sophisticated, that will allow you to take out a specific track, layered within a song, I can't help you.

Do a look up, because I can't remember where I got it. It was so long ago. I think you can use it on a trial basis, but than you have to pay something like $5. I felt it was worth the money.
