Stadium Under Construction
I'm currently building a completely hand-drawn stadium (by that I mean using only Paint Shop - no image captures) to work with the default fielder coordinates in OOTP. I was contemplating doing a sky and backdrop in Bryce but then decided I would turn over the finishing touches to you guys. As I usually receive a number of requests to alter my ballparks once they're posted, I thought I would take the suggestions beforehand, using the best ones to guide me in finishing this park off. Some areas where I need your input would be:
day, night, or dusk? type of backdrop - trees, walls, commemorative baseball art? Cityscape - metropolitan park, suburban park, mountain backdrop? (hopefully you can also point out where suitable art for this can be found - straight on perspective at least 700 to 800 pixels wide. Scoreboard art - Famous slugger? famous pitcher? Arnie Harris fan cam babe in a tube top? Post your suggestions to this thread or post your support for somebody else's. Depending on the responses I'll probably finish the park after the weekend. Good idea.Really like the color of the seats. The Marlins need a new ballpark! How about dusk with an ocean backdrop[like the M&M one] with some palm trees or even some buildings.[condos of course]Yes-fan cam babe in a bikini-sweet!What ever you decide I'm sure to use it,just keep those seats teal.

With those seat colors I gotta go with the Floridian look as well - ocean, palm trees, mostly naked women.

i read the title, i was hoping for a finished (sort of) ballpark that is actually under construction
you know how teams play while construction workers are working on the stadium....i think that would like awesome - but that is my opinion

Make it generic so we can use it in several different leagues...and maybe we won't ask for any changes.
As long as it's generic, it doesn't matter to me...day, night, city,etc... They are always done well enough to use. Put some famous brand names and fictional company names on the scoreboard and walls. If you do a city skyline, paint a sign on the wall of any buildings near the ballpark...especially the ones adjacent to it. Keep up the great stadium designs. They are excellent. |

i'd love to have an older style stadium, with some 1930's flavor.

Definately day.
Backdrop - Commemorative baseball art. Cityscape - City parks are the best. (Just my opinion.) Scoreboard - Nothing. Skip the jombo tron. Just use stats or maybe even a hand operated scoreboard would be a nice contrast in a modern park. Just in case, want to see fans in the stands. You'll probably include fans anyway as you've done in all your fantastic parks. Thanks for asking for input. This is fun.

Smaller scale ballpark. We have so many ballparks for major league scaled leagues... I'd love to see some parks more scaled for those of us with "regional" leagues; of course that's just my preference.
Thanks for all the work you've done Teflon and the rest.

Construction Update
Based on the suggestions to have a hand-operated scoreboard in this stadium, I've altered the design to be more in keeping with a ballpark of such a period. An overhanging upper deck has been added along with more irregular dimensions (I call the notch in left center the "Vast Expanse") and a clubhouse/team office building perched behind the fence. An old-time Pepsi sign was also added to give the park a vintage feel. Still looking for a suitable city-scape, however. As the stadium is still all original drawing, I might have to try and create one to keep it a "virgin". I'm not married to that idea, though, and will gladly incorporate a suitable image if one presents itself. Then there's the matter of the stadium's name. Any suggestions?

I want a "hit it here" sign in a ballpark sometime. Just seems cool to me. I think the buildings behind it, with a few lawn chairs and people chillin up there would be great. Although.. that may get a little to in depth

On a side note I agree with Scott. Love your work! But I would love to see some smaller stadiums for use in regional leagues. That is more of an aside for all stadium makers not neccesarily just you Teflon. I am in awe of everyone who does these great stadiums! Muchos Gracias!

Love the classic additions. Here are some possible names...
Pastime Park Century Field Classica Ballpark Vintage Stadia These are pretty basic, I know, but it's just off the top of my head. If I think of more, I'll list them later. |
