Talking OOTP5 Financials Spreadsheet

If you're having trouble figuring out OOTP5's financials, this spreadsheet could be helpful. My Archive utility calculates a team's financials with much less work on your part, but if you need help in how things are calculated, then use my OOTP5_Financials.zip spreadsheet at:

http://members.shaw.ca/kq76/ootp/

Directions:

-Copy and paste #s from ootp's financial and salary reports into yellow cells only.
-If necessary, press F9 to refresh.
-To figure out what #s make up what other #s:
--using the Auditing toolbar (View | Toolbars | Formula Auditing),
--click on a white cell with a # in it,
--press the trace precedents or trace dependents buttons on the toolbar,
--and look at the formula in the selected cell

EDIT: If a team has some extreme negative #s for certain figures, this spreadsheet may not spit out exactly what OOTP does. If I come across a team in one of my leagues that has this or receives money from rev sharing, I will update the spreadsheet (and the archive) to factor that in. I haven't come across that in awhile though so I'm not 100% certain how OOTP calculates the financials in these cases. I could calculate it how I think it should work, but OOTP's financials just don't always work the way you'd think they should. That said, if there is discrepancies between the spreadsheet and your ootp reports (only possible with extreme negative #s for certain figures), using this should help you figure out how OOTP does calculate them. If you want to point me to some html reports online for a league like this so I can update the spreadsheet and archive, please do so.

EDIT2: v5.01 correctly (as far as OOTP is concerned at least) accounts for the salaries of:

NY Extensions Salaries
TY Salaries of Players with NY Extensions
TY Salaries of Soon-To-Be Fas
TY Salaries of Arbitration Eligibles
TY Salaries of Automatic Resigns

Still no update for extreme negatives though.

Interactive Online League Directory - find or advertise a league today! (now OOTP9 compatible, thanks for the space jazzrack!)
Canadian Baseball League - a recent OOTP9 convert, but running steadily since April 2002
SGCBL - a Lord of the Rings themed league with a very friendly membership and a commish constantly looking to improve the smallest of things
