Whats the deal with name files?

Hey, I searched around but didnt find what I was looking for.

Just wondering if someone could explain how the name files work. How many files there are and is there a maximum number of files you can have at once etc?

I would like to have more variety/different names in my league so I am guessing that I just have to install a different name file and the game will start including the new names when it generates rookies?

There are 6 files...I can't think of the exact names off-hand, but they are for "Latin" first and last names, Asian first and last names, and "American" first and last names. Look through your OOTP directories (I think theyr'e in the "data" directory), and you'll find 'em.

And your assumption about replacing the files is correct, all of your leagues draw names from the same set of files.

if you edit the name files, make sure to delete "mary" from the fnames file.
