Cleveland Spiders Logo
I finally got the OK to move my online team to Cleveland. I would like to name them The Spiders. Just as a Doctor cannot be his own patient and a Lawyer should not represent himself, I wish to seek the help of my comrades. Please feel free to provide as many logos as you wish and of course I am granting total artistic freedom.

It must be the "arachneaphobe" in me...but I don't care for the spiders.
This is scotto's thread, so do what he wants...but if it were me, I would want a logo without the spider and use something like Oriole's first design...which is very well done...minus the spider. My suggestion would be a 1910 type logo. Use BLACK, RED AND WHITE colors (black widow)...Frame it like Oriole did. Use a baseball in the center of the logo...with the CLEVELAND and SPIDERS placement just like Oriole's first logo design. Then put the letters "C S" for "Cleveland Spiders" inside the baseball. Then place "BASEBALL" in a circle above the "C S" baseball. And place "CLUB" in that same circle below the "C S" baseball. The baseball would be one circle with "BASEBALL CLUB" in another concentric circle. CLEVELAND SPIDERS would be at the top and bottom of the logo respectively. Just a thought...hope someone will do it. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-26-2003 at 11:35 AM. |

Just a little factoid, did anyone happen to know that Cy Young played for the Cleveland Spiders in the late 1800's. If not now you do.

"1910" Cleveland Spiders by popular demand.
I appreciate your appreciation of my skills. It's a fun hobby made more fun when it can be enjoyed by others. http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7jglp/index.html

Super job, Oriole.
It really has an oldtime feel to it. I went to your site and saw the extremely fine logos you have done. The Spokane Eagles is perfect in all respects...a great logo. Thanks for sharing you talent with us on the OOTPB Forum. Last edited by Eugene Church; 11-27-2003 at 01:44 PM. |

Thanks again. By all means visit my site and use my logos, or just my styles, ideas and colors for your teams. Or make requests - either for your team names or based on styles or colors you have seen on my site. This is a lot of fun and creating logos is a good end-of-day stress buster.
