1993 League File

Here is a solo league file for the 1993 season that I have recently completed. Please post or email me some feedback regarding the file. I think it is about as accurate as an OOTP file can be but I am open to ideas on how to improve it.

Also I need a place to host this file in the future. I have it on a temp site but need to move it so if anyone has space please let me know. It is a 2.8 MB file.

I did not include any photo files but there are team logos included. The stadium file info is included in the README file. Be sure to view the README file that is included for info on all of the adjustments I made.

In my test runs the division winners were always either the 1st or 2nd place team in real life from 1993. The World Series Winner was either the Blue Jays or Braves every time. All teams perform very close to their actual 1993 finishes although there seems to be a "dark horse" each season that I simmed.

This file has some awesome teams such as the Blue Jays and some real bad teams such as the Royals. I think you will find this to be an excellent challenge and alot of fun.

Hey Cowboy thanks for the file. I converted it from OOTP5 to OOTP6 and believe it or not the change was pretty good. I havent gone thru everyones info yet but they all look pretty good.

Sounds good to me! Actually the crazy thing is that until this link got restarted I kind of forgot about the 1993 V5 File because I had been so focused on making the 1987 V6 file! But looks like the V5 file is still running smoothly and people are getting some enjoyment out of it so it is all good.

Cowboy, great job... brings back a lot of baseball card memories for me.

Has there ever been any effort to put a handful of the impact youngsters from the 87-90 time frame (Griffey, RJohnson, Grace, Sabo, Big Hurt, Walker, Nokes, Weiss, Reed, Gonzalez, Alomar, Sheffield, Walton, M Williams, Dibbs, blah blah blah) or 93-96 (Thome, ARod, Piazza, Manny, Pedro, blah blah) time frame into the minor leagues of these files, while allowing would-be commishes to fill in the gaps with computer-generated players? Not a ton by any means, but just some of the bigger names.

No because league files are always made to allow the real rookies to be imported at the end of each season using either the Lahman or Ankit Dbase. OOTP does not do a great job developing players especially OOTP5 so putting a bunch of big names in the minors with really low ratings will probably only create disappointment since most of them would never develop into the players that they actually became.

But glad you are liking the file and be sure to check out my 1987 OOTP6 file, it is MUCH more accurate than my 1993 file.

I am a complete noob to roster set making but I really want to make a 1979 or 1980 version. How did you do such a good job on these? Just patience?

Hey Cowboys, kinda off-topic, but I loved your '87 file. I used it for a play-all-the-games solo league with the Twins. It was awesome!
