Cato helper scripts

I wrote a pair of scripts which have automated the Cato import process, and made it a lot easier for me. I mentioned them in a thread here a couple days ago, and a couple people have since found them useful, so I thought I'd make them available for anyone who wants them.

Basically, the way it works is, when you're done a season (say 1907), all you do is generate the reports from in the game, then you pop open a dos prompt and type:

save 1907
go 1907

That takes care of all the grunt work involved with backing up your league every year and setting up things for Cato to do its thing. The first script invokes the exporter utility, and saves its output along with your .lg dir and reports into an organized hierarcy where every year has its own sub-directory. The second feeds all the data for the specified year to the Cato directories, then pops Cato open for you. All you do is hit 'Import'.

All you need to do to set this up is open the scripts in a text editor and change the directories to suit your own setup. I've written and commented them so that this is easy to do even for those not familiar with editing scripts.

Not knowing a damn thing about how all this works in OOTP5, assuming there is Cato for OOTP6, will these scripts work with that?

I know, tough question to answer, but I'm really hoping to use the util when I get OOTP6.

i can't say...they may not even be neccesary (one can hope!)...but they're not that much work really...it took me about half an hour to make them...so if there's a need for them again, i'll put up a modified version...

Thanks Tree, very generous of you - these are nice DOS batch file scripts.

Scripting!?!??!???!?!??!

Are you trying to subvert people to an unconscious desire for Linux?
