New Stadium Design

Well, in anticipation of version 6, I've been getting everything organized for my new fictional league that I will be starting as soon as the game comes out. I've already got the team names, logos, and miscellaneous other items organized, yet I was still missing good stadium pics/data.

I originally downloaded Teflon's collection of parks (LOVE those, btw), but I decided to try my own hand at it. I know I don't possess the skills necessary for photo work of that kind, so I went for something simpler.

This setup shows the overall "design view" of the field, infield insert, stadium photo and name, plus team logo. I haven't gotten the coordinates worked out yet (I am REALLY dreading that process...any advice?), but I wanted to submit this design idea for critique.

Please share any ideas that you may have for the attached sample. ANY help is GREATLY appreciated!

I really like it. Nice work!

I'm more into the simple type of layout, and that looks like it would do the trick. Can't help you with coordinates though, I've never messed with stadiums before.

Edit- Actually, if there is anything that I would change, it would be the actual photo of the stadium in the upper left corner. It might be a little too big, only because it doesn't actually serve a purpose in the game. I'm not claustrophobic (sp?) but I start to freak out when things are too close to one another.

Well, I adjusted it a little bit...hopefully it looks a little better now.

I enlarged the infield view and removed the box surrounding it, and I lowered the photo and name of the stadium. I also put in the coordinates, but I think I may have a problem. If the text box for a player (i.e. 3rd base runner) extends past the field picture, does it cut it off or does it just run on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also...does anybody have any suggestions on how to incorporate the team logo better into the whole scheme rather than just plugging it in at the corner? Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I've got the process pretty standardized now, so everything's going very smooth. I just wish I could find something eye-catching to fill that lower corner.

I have a few more done, if you'd like to see them. They are all very similar...nearly identical, except for the details. Tell me what you think.

Nice.

Reminds me of a set made by a member named ccm01 or something like that.

Any plans for major league teams?

I don't know, but I had his stadium sets on my HD and when it crashed, I lost all of them.

Spook & alinkens,

Those are all quite nice. Often the stadium backgrounds (non-field) parts of parks, though very well-done, just do not fit quite right with my fictional teams. These flat designs showing just the playing field will have less personality initially, but there is room for customizing by adding logos and other stuff as you guys did. I'd really like to see any more that get made like this.
