My first real attempts

I've been toying around with trying some logos - here's my first couple attempts. The inspiration was that I've always been annoyed by having a league without some uniformity to the logo set. Thus, the birth of two styles. First, the Diamond Pinstripe...

And next, the Rawhide - thanks to Giants44 for the baseball image!

Interested in critique and feedback...

I like the second one better! Nice!
I prefer to not use real photos in my logos but I notice some people like to. It's interesting seeing the different techniques.

Both are well done, but I prefer the Diamond style. The varying colors in the corners is a nice touch.

I like the Baseball, but would prefer OMAHA placed somewhere other than over the baseball threads.

Would also prefer a solid background rather than the dotted one.

I'm with you on the background - I spent a little time trying to get rid of it and replace it with a background similar to the one on the diamond style, but the varying colors of both the background and the ball made it difficult to select just the background yet get all the background without getting part of the ball too. Anyway, I have been using a freeware program from Serif call PhotoPlus 5.5, but I just picked up Paint Shop Pro 8 and I think the tools I can use will make the editing a bit easier.

On the the OMAHA - do you have any suggestions on where it might go? I too wasn't keen on the placement but I couldn't find any better spot. Maybe it just needs to be resized to not extend over the stitching...

Thanks for the comments!

Put Omaha above the baseball would be my preference.

Maybe some of the logo geniuses will offer a remedy.

Nah I'm not to that level yet. Actually the font is a free font I found called Team Spirit.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll keep at it and post some future efforts. I think I might actually play some OOTP tonight however instead of working on logos
