I'm trying to work on it right now, but those specifications are really difficult, so it takes quite a bit of time to build. With the uneven and odd numbers of teams it has to go piece-by-piece rather than in blocks.

26 team, 162 game schedules

2 leagues, 2 divisions per league, 6 and 7 teams in the divisions of each league
68 or 74 intradivision games (depending on division)
36 or 42 interdivision games (depending on division)
52 interleague games (depending on division)

All four possible configurations of the 6- & 7-team divisions in the two leagues are included in the zip file attached.

See the README file included in the zip for more details.

Unfortunately this result is not as elegant as I prefer, but it is done (*whew*). Some, though not all that many, extended stretches of more than 20 straight days with games - typical in the past but not in today's majors. Lots of two game series because the 4 interleague games per opponent are consecutive, but in 2H then 2A or 2A then 2H blocks. So lots of travel too.

12 team, 162 game schedules

2 leagues, 1 division per league, 6 teams per division
138 games within the league/division (27-28 per opponent)
24 interleague games (4 per opponent)

The "b" files have the interleague games in 4-game series so the home/away splits are not even. The "c" files have the interleague games in 2-game series so the home/away splits are even. The two numbered files for each letter pair in each case have the home/away matchups all reversed so that if that pair is used comsecutively over two years the home/away splits are even.

See the top of the files for more details.

i like c1 because interleague is 2h 2away..

but why we need c2 for? if c1 is balance already with 2 h and 2 away

can we just use c1 every season? and load it to the game just one time?

thanks

The second file may be useful for the "c" files because in both the "b" & "c" sets the home/away matchup numbers are not equal for the games within the league. For instance, in a few cases a team plays one of its league opponents 12 times at home and 15 times away and in others it is 15H/13A, etc.

Yes, you can just use the one version, load it in once, and never look back. The game should rearrange the teams after each season so that you do not continually have the same teams having the same unevenness in the home/away splits against the same opponents. It will not balance everything out perfectly, but it should be pretty good.

Not sure if you guys will do this for me,

But I want a 20 team, 2 leagues, 2 division (5 per) schedule.

But, I want 24 games vs all divisional opponents
12 vs 4 NON divisional opponents
10 vs 1 NON divisional opponent.

Also,

If its possible, Id like all games in April, June, July and September to be interdivisional, while all May and August games non-divisional (not sure how it fits).

I'm sure gmo will be able to put something like this together for you. He's a human schedule generator.

One thing to note though is that because you have 5 teams in each division, it's impossible to have all teams playing divisional at the same time. You can have 4 out of the 5 teams playing divisional contests, and then the remaining team will have to be playing an interdivisional contest.

However, it should be possible to have the maximum number of divisional contests going on for several weeks at a time, and then do something like rotating the team playing interdivisional games amongst the divisional clubs. So, for example, in five series a team could play four divisional series and one interdivisional series.

Let's see... 154 games, no interleague. LGO is right about it being necessary to have at least one series of non-divisional games at all times, but otherwise the specifications appear relatively easily manageable. I'm just back from being out of town, but unless this schedule pops up here in the meantime I can probably get to it sometime today or tomorrow.

We're starting a one-division, six-team, 100-game league at BBSC. Think you could tackle that one?

Starting small, eh? That sounds relatively easy, and it probably will be, but let me get some more info...

Presumably you'd like 20 games per opponent with 10H/10A, right?

With only 1 league there wouldn't be an All-Star Game, but would you still want a mid-season break, and if so, at what point? Also when would you want to start and end the season since it is as short as it is?

Hey guys, here's the 2005 MLB season for you.

This schedule is based on the tentative scheds released by all the teams so I suppose it could change or games times might shift.
However , I suspect there will be little change if any.

For interleague it's ALEvsNLC, ALCvsNLW and ALWvsNLE.

Enjoy!!

Note: The original schedule posted had a few errors. Thanks to LGO and GMO for picking them up. If you downloaded this before 2:30 pm EST Nov 24/04 then you should re-download it now.

Also this schedule assumes you only used the team setup screen to change the name of Montreal to Washington. If you edited your league structure to keep the NLE division in alphabetical order then check out version 2 about 10 posts after this one.

Hey Khan, where'd you pick up that 2005 schedule? I checked around the offical MLB site the other day and they had noting at all. I'm curious to check it out to see how much it might be different from previous ones due to the new company which was used to create it.

I usually wait until spring myself before committing the schedule to digital form, as by then MLB's official web site has the full schedule details, from both itself and the downloadable PDF's for each team.

I just went to each teams page and got their individual scheds and then made the whole one from those.

Teams don't all release them at once though.

Boston just released theirs so I was able to finish the schedule this morning.

One difference I noticed is that interleague is done by June.

By the way, I'm no gmo. It took me awhile to make it ,but I just did a little bit at a time as more and more teams released their individual schedules.

Like I said the schedules are "tentative" so I suppose it may change and some of the game times may not 100% accurate at this time.

P.S. By the way, you're welcome to use or modify it for your historical scheds.....although technically it's a future sched

[Captain Kirk]KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!![/Captain Kirk]

Sorry, I had to do it.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know I came across a couple of typos in your schedule file for 2005. Here are the corrections needed:

Apr. 24 - you have COL listed to play a game against itself, COL at COL. It should be LAN at COL.

May 2 - you have a FLO at ATL game listed. This game shouldn't be there, it was an off day for ATL.

Aug. 4 - COL is listed twice, with one game being COL at SFN and the other COL at WSH. The COL at WSH game should be actually be LAN at WSH.

Other than those, it seems you got everything right. That's a very good job, considering all the typing involved (and I know all about that, let me tell you).
