Quick question,

If I run a 1l/1d/8t schedule over a 2l/1d/4t set-up, will it just give me a balanced league? Reason being I'd like to hold on to the possibility of expanison.

Download the file to your computer. In the game in the league, go to the Edit Schedule screen under League Setup. Choose the Import CSV Schedule option. A little window will pop up from which you can choose that file from wherever you saved it. After you pick it out the game will take a few seconds to load it up. Then you can set the All-Star Date and Year Starts on info there on that same screen.

No, not if you simply do nothing from year to year. If you reimported the original schedule each season, then you would have the same matchups. But the game itself does some juggling of the matchups in going into a new season by mixing up the teams within each division. The games themselves all remain the same but the teams that get slotted into them change.

Those years can be ignored because they really do not matter for anything except setting the calendar so the days of the week line up the way they were intended. They will work for any year, indeed there is no year to change if you are not first setting up a league. For 2005 you set the Year Starts on day to Saturday so that series designed to begin on Monday begin on Monday rather than Wednesday or Saturday or anything else.

Yes, that's it. If a 1/1/8 schedule has each other team played 8 times, then in a 2/1/4 or a 1/2/4 setup still each other team would be played 8 times. The game does not care how the number of teams are divided into leagues, divisions, and such.

This is great stuff. I need a schedule to use with my Franchise Stars set.

Question, though...will the schedule be the same every year? Do I need to reimport it every year?

Thanks!

Depends on what you mean by "same."

LGO has the short answer. Here's a longer one...

Every game in a schedule involves a team from a division playing a team from a division, where that second division may be the same division as the first or another one within the league or one outside the league. Those games do not change from one year to the next when OOTP processes a league into a new season. There is a system by which it mixes up the teams within each division in the schedule. Games the previous season that were Division X vs Division X or Division X vs Division Y will still be just that. But every matchup where it had been say Team 1 of whatever division playing, the game will repick a team from the division to slot into those matchups, maybe Team 2, Team 3, Team 1 again, or any other team from the division.

So importing once and going with it indefinitely will not result in the very same matchups between all teams at all the same times, while reimporting each season would do that.

Hope that is clear. Everytime I try to explain it concisely I feel I do a poor job.

I thought I'd actually try giving a short answer. For once.

2 leagues, 3 divisions per league, 4 teams per division

60 division games (20 games per opponent)
48 other league games (6 games per opponent)
48 interleague games (4 games per opponent)

The 1st version contains no All-Star Break, while the 2nd version does have an All-Star Break. See the top of the files for more details.

As it is now in the game any fatigue and injuries incurred during the All-Star Game do not carry over from the game into the rest of the season. Does that influence where you would like the All-Star Game?
Sorry, for the late response, was away from the computer for a couple of days. Regardless, knowing that, I would prefer to keep the All-Star game at the end of the season and "pretend" it occurs after the playoffs.

BTW, thanks a bunch for the 156 game schedules with and without the All-Star break!

I've got a fairly simple (I think) request, if nobody minds. Two leagues, six teams per league, no interleague, 160 games. Assuming I'm counting correctly, that would be 32 games against each team in the league, 16H/16A. Start date very early April, as per usual, All-Star Game at the end of the season, and the league would be starting in 1986 if that's necessary info. It would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Request for 2 schedules

Schedule 1
12 teams 2 leagues of 6 teams each
136 games total
20 games vs each of the 5 teams in your league for 100 games
6 games vs each of the 6 teams in the other league for 36 games

ideally series are of different lengths (2, 3 and 4 game series) and schedule
runs from late April early May to late September. Off days generally Monday or thursday but staggered so there is at least 1 game every day except for the 3 day allstar break.
no doubleheaders.

Schedule 2 for when the league expands to 16 teams
16 teams 2 leagues of 8 teams in 1 division each
144 game schedule
16 games vs each of the 7 teams in your league for 112 games
4 games vs each of the 8 teams in the other league for 32 games
ideally series are of different lengths (2, 3 and 4 game series) and schedule
runs from late April early May to late September. Off days generally Monday or thursday but staggered so there is at least 1 game every day except for the 3 day allstar break.
no doubleheaders.

thanks
