Cato question when doing multiple seasons

Do I have to generate the HTML after every season I import or is this a process that I can do after I import all of the seasons?

Followup: If I make changes to the All-Stars within catobase, do I have to re-do any importing or will it automatically update past season all-stars when I generate the HTML?

You don't need to do player pages each time, but I would recommend doing the team/league pages after each season (unless you are just doing a bunch of archived seasons, though after that I would do it season by season). My understanding is it makes all the player pages each time you choose that option, while it does either all seasons' team/league pages or only the last season depending on whether or not you check that output option box.

At least the league pages for each season have the all stars listed. The changes you make to all stars will hold in the database into the future, but you would need to regenerate HTML pages to see all the changes on the webpages, and I believe that would seem to mean all seasons if you changed anything besides the just completed OOTP season.

No, you don't need to create the HTML pages after importing each year. You can do multiple season, then create the pages. It will calculate leaderboards and win shares for all years. Just be sure to uncheck the Current Year Only option for team/league pages.

If you change the All-Stars or award winners for previous seasons, you'll need to uncheck the Current Year Only option for team/league pages in order for those previous seasons to be recreated.

So let me get this right (I am in year 2023, so don't want to mess it up now)

What I do now is ...

1. Run the season
2. Stop at the end of postseason
3. Export HTML pages
4. Back up season
5. Run Catobase
6. Proceed to next season
7. Repeat

So I can now..

1. Run the season
2. Stop at end of postseason
3. Back up season
4. Proceed to next season
5. Repeat until I am ready
6. Run Catobase

The last time I tried the 2nd option it did something weird where it only did the recent season in detail but did a brief summary of past seasons. However, this was awhile ago and I may have done it wrong. I would like the 2nd option because it takes like 2 hours per season now, so I can let it run overnight

Thanks!

If you do the 2nd option, you'll have to restore the backed up seasons one at a time and run Catobase on each.

The part you can skip each year is the Creating HTML part. I would do this:

1. Run Season
2. Stop at end of postseason
3. Generate web pages in OOTP
4. Backup season
5. Run Catobase and Import Stats only
6. Proceed to next season
7. Repeat until ready to make Catobase web pages
8. Create HTML Pages in CatoBase
