name files

Does anyone know how to manipulate the dat files? That is, what program does one use after they have downloaded a fictional name file? Thanks in advance.

As far as actually getting into the dat file itself, I am not sure.

As far as using the name file (be it FNames or LNames) just drop it into your "data" folder in OOTP. Then OOTP will use those names which were in those dat files as the fictional ones.

Any text editor: notepad, wordpad, textpad, ultraedit, etc etc. Excel will work too and is good if you want to do a lot of things fast.
