The *Other* Ultimate Historical Facepack
Like Tiger Fan, I've also been doing my best to find photos for everyone who ever played in the majors. I am currently working on 3180 photos spanning 100 years of Major League Baseball. I had already edited these pix for Baseball Mogul and have about 700 to go before this set is completely re-edited for OOTP.
These pix include every player ever selected for the All-Star Game, all Hall of Famers who played in 1900 or later, practically everyone that ever played for the Astros, and most everyone from the 1916, 1987, and 1998 seasons (These went along with Mogul roster sets). Once finished, I'll start editing for both Mogul and OOTP at the same time. The next set will consist mainly of guys from the 50s and 60s. BTW: I don't know about Tiger Fan but my sets are designed so fans won't need the entire set of pix. This will help those with limited HD space until Markus can implement JPG support. |

I should mention that these OOTP pix will be almost entirely faces only. I do have action shots for many of the same 3180 players but I'll leave those for someone else as long as I get credit for the original Mogul versions.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of Jake Stenzel (He was a major leaguer in the 1890's, mostly with the Pirates & NL Orioles. He had a .339 Career batting avg over nine seasons.
During my fruitless search on the net for a picture of him, I came across this Item, from a baseball memorabillia auction. "Some little items brought big prices. A circa 1904 celluloid button picturing Peaches O'Neil, who played for Cincinnati in 1904, with the words "Stenzel's Rooter Button" on the front, and on the paper backing "Compliments of Jake Stenzel's B.B. Exchange" (located opposite the ball park in Cincinnati), sold for $1430 (est. $125/150)." So besides being a good player, he printed & sold baseball memorabillia after he retired. He probably would have gotten a kick out of finding out that one of his free promotional items would sell for $1,430 dollars a hundred years later.

This is good news for all fans of historical facepacks. I remember Jeff's work on BM and his retooling the packs for here are a good and welcome addition!
I am a huge fan of both Tiger Fan and Jeff Olsen's work , and now there are more things to enjoy for the game. This made my day. Thanks!

![]() As I said in Tiger Fan's thread, it's good to give the fans a choice. I'm sure he has better pictures of some players than I do and vice-versa. |

I am glad to hear Jeff is working on this and I have offered him use of any of my photos as I have decided to take a back seat on the facepacks for a while. Instead I am going to spend most of my time on something different - actually playing the game.
Good luck Jeff. Look forward to seeing your set.

Jeff if you want PM me with a list of players you do not have...
I have been plugging in Tiger Fan's facepacks ever since he came out with his year by year...I have some rare guys, even if they are old cards... as for Jake Stenzel he is about as hard to find as George Barclay who played for 6 years in the 1900s!!! that's rare and Reb Russell |

Well, sonny gun, the Spalding Guide for 1895 did have all the team photos labeled, but the key was at the back of the book.
Stenzel is in the middle row, second from the end, to the right. Here is his pic, 90 X 135, OOTP style.

You guys simply amaze me.
How in the world do you come up with all of these pictures? I am glad you do, because you all add a wonderful element to the game. Hats off to Jeff Olsen, TigerFan, TC Dale, darkhouse and all the others that contribute so much to the OOTPB Community. |

www.sabr.org has an ongoing project to collect a photo of every player in MLB history. So far, they've found over 16,000 of the 17,000+ players to appear in a big league uni. I'd love to get my greedy paws on that database of images.
