Well I can't claim credit for no black & yellow, though I'd like to...

The Pirates actually used red and blue from 1901-1947 and when you said 1930's-40's....

Now, here's one for the Browns....

Wow! Whats with you and logos from St. Louis? Perfect design there... IMO best so far. Good job going away form the elf and the horse, I can't stand either of those. I can't thank you enough for all your hard work in these.

Thanks. The Browns only had three logo images: the fleur de lis, the St Louis on his horse over the shield and Brownie the Elf. I think everyone eventually gets tired of the last two, so that left the fleur...

And now, the Athletics.

The team never used "Philadelphia" on anything other than tickets, so I used what they put on the Shibe Park tickets....

The team really worked a couple of "mascots", the elephant being the most common. Here's another take on the elephant they used....

Connie Mack must have had a sense of humor or else he never looked at their printed materials, because this one made me LOL.....

The elephant tethered to a post marked "8th Place".

The other "mascot" was Connie Mack himself. His image is all over the Athletics printed materials. But this one is classic.... Connie Mack popping out of a baseball. I just couldn't resist.

Thats classic. The last two are just great. Between the first two, I can't decide which to use, they're both superb.

I still need:

Braves

Reds- baseball man?

Phillies- I don't know if the Phils have ever had a mascot for a logo, but if you can try something other than a big 'p'.

I didn't particularly like the Giants logo, so came up with an alternate. This one is more 1930-40....

Phillies....

Like the Athletics, the Phillies never used the word "Philadelphia" except on their tickets.

As talented as the Athletics were with their mascot images, the Phillies were downright lousey. All they could come up with was a "P" or the word "Phillies". Real creative folks.

Except once.

This time you get their first and only real "mascot"... the blue jay. In the '40's (1944 I think), the team owner half-decided the it should be called the "Blue Jays", even though "Phillies" was still used on the uniform. The new nickname never had any real backing in the press or with the public and the team itself never really seemed to be behind it 100% either. About the best they did was stick a blue jay on the sleeve and use a medium blue on the uniform, but keep "Phillies" on it too. So the next year they quietly dropped the idea of renaming the team. But they couldn't seem to part with the blue jay. For several years afterward they kept using the bird on printed material.

Thanks for all your hard work jdew! Not only did you provide me with some solid logos, you also chipped in with a lot of historical info I didn't know. I hope you enjoyed making them as much as I enjoy using them.
