Version 2.1 is now available, with complete managers and minor league teams, thanks to the hard work of MalleusDei. I've sent it out, but it's available hot of the presses thanks to the lovely Sporr.

![]() I recommend this roster set to anyone who likes historical OOTP. Doug (et al) did a good job here.

A Whole lotta fun!!!!
This is great!! I've been playing around with this set alot the last few days (and using ankits modified for rookies).
The biggest issue (to me) is still that the game cant handle pitchers who start some games, but are not full time starters. If they are the best pitcher (in endurance i think), it makes them a full time starter. Players like Lindy McDaniel (who was pretty good as a long man out of the pen) only started 74 games out of his 987 played (W-141 L-119 Sv-172) but pitched over 2000 innings. The game will make him a starter since his endurance is 50+. If you change it, he wont get anyway near the innings pitched (or wins). And this happens with about 3 or 4 pitchers per team. It makes it hard to run just one team (per leauge) and let the computer do the rest, when you keep having to adjust the endurance...... |

The only thing I think that is probably missing is the actual 1969 schedule...

It is missing, LGO. I'm using Tiger Fan's wonderful schedules at the minute, because I don't want to confuse anyone with scheduled double-headers. If you have a copy lying around, could I tempt you into emailing it to me? I'd love it at least for myself, and I'll include it in the file so that those who want the double-headers and all (I'm sure there are a ton!) could get the full experience! |

You are absolutely right that this is a real pain - because of issues like this, I made a conscious decision to not touch pitchers. I edited a few, but was left with a rather uncomfortable feeling - like you said, I'd have relievers becoming ace starters. Moreover, I changed a few guys to knuckleballers, and then balked that I might be double-rewarding them (i.e. the game handles these guys differently, but is that built into the stats already?). There's too much about pitchers in OOTP we don't know as yet to make a 'perfectly' comprehensive roster, and that's a real shame. |
