Brand New CatoBase Question

I finally figured out how to create a database successfully, and now I run into a new problem. When I set my options, I don't know what folder to put in Data Directory. I've tried many, and I get the same error message, it couldn't find the league.csv file. But then I did a search on my whole computer, and I don't have a league.csv file anywhere. What directory am I supposed to assign to League and Data Directory? Thanks.

You don't really need to change it from the default. Try this:

1. Make a folder called C:\History
2. Make a folder in C:\History named for your league, say MLB
3. Start CatoBase and click File/New...
4. In the dialog box, navigate the C:\History\MLB folder and enter a name for your database, say MLB, and click Save
5. Click on File/Options
6. Click the folder icon next to the League Directory and select your league folder. In this example, it would be C:\Program Files\OOTP6\MLB.lg
7. The Data Directory will default to C:\History\MLB\data. This will work fine.
8. Click OK to close the Options screen.
9. Click Import Stats and it should start getting the data.

Ok, I followed your directions to the letter, and it didnt work. When I click Import Stats, I get 2 messages. First one says:

"File not found
was not found
Make sure the file exists and the correct path is set in the options screen."

I do not know what file its not finding though.

The second message is:

"File not found:
c:\history\career 2004\data\league.csv"

I have no idea what the problem is, but, I don't know anything about this program. What is this league.csv it can't find? Any ideas?

Do you have the Run Exporters option checked on the Input tab?

Do you have the exporter programs in the CatoBase folder? The folder you installed CatoBase to should have 5 files named cj_*.exe and 5 files named cj6_*.exe. These files create the CSV files in the Data Directory.

The Run Exporters option is checked. I have 5 cj files, but no cj6 files. I just unzipped v 6.1.1 and went from there. Do I still have to copy and paste in the cj6 files from the 6.0 update?

Yes. That should do the trick.

Alright, well it seemed to work, for a while. Now I run into yet another problem. I guess I just attract these things. When I click "Import Stats" it starts doing it, then when it gets to league.csv, it pops up telling me my season is not over, and I have to make the data files after the WS and before Proceed to Next Season. But I did this. Twice. Very annoying...

Sorry about that, because of the problems with the 6.1.1 full install, there was some confusion on the files in the zip file. The 6.1.1 update now includes the OOTP6 exporters.

For your new problem, there is a value in the league.csv file that indicates if the league is over. Are you sure that the Proceed to Next Season button is show on the standings page? Are you sure the League Directory is pointing to the right league? If so, can you post your league.csv file here? You'll need to rename it to league.txt, but you should be able to post it.
