Halofan roster set is updated

Ok for those of you that are interested, the halofan roster set is updated. I was still adjusting ratings from the conversion and i have finished about 75% of the players and there are a few more that need to be done. I have added more rookies again, more signed drafted players,adjusted the ratings as i said on most players and i am in the process of creating a file that has all of the players persoanl histories that you can put in the game. I am also making a photo set to go along with the roster set. The transactions are in as of July 22nd (11am my time) as well.

Halo, one thing that I noticed with your roster set is that there are some extemely high rated minor leaguers throughout the leagues. For example, I re-set all injuries, and turned waivers/40-man roster off and ran CPU manager. I looked over the Astros to see how they looked since I know them the best, and Clemens (rated 767 on a 1-10 ratings scale) had been sent to the minors in favor of a couple of youngsters who were rated upwards of 888.

Are you aware of this, and are you trying to correct it, or is it intended that way? Is that what you're referring to in this post as 'correcting ratings'?

most of those higher ratings were accredited to the conversion.....as for the astros, most of them have been fixed, but there are still some players that need to be tweaked....to answer your question tho, i did know about some of the rookies and they are also being adjusted or have been adjusted

The new file is much closer to "real" than the last one....but like i said, work is still being done

Who exactly is Steve Andrade and why isn't he listed on Baseball Reference?

He already took over Percy's spot as closer for the Angels when the season started in my little league I'm letting run.

Andrade is a closer for Salt Lake City/Arkansas and is currently the "releiver with no where to go" as there is a large abundance of MR and CL in the Angel farm system. Working for the Angels last year allowed me to get in real well with the farm system.....as for taking Percy's spot, i have tested it out and if you made Andrade the same age as Percy, Troy would be the closer and the main reason he gets placed in the closer role on a computer is because of his age

I noticed in your patch that the Angels have a much more deeper farm system than the other teams. For instance in Texas, Ian Kinsler isn't even in the game although he is a top rated prospect by Baseball America. I am also wondering if you have the rookie class in this patch?

Kinsler isnt in the game because i just havent had a chance to put him in. When i made the roster set i didnt add very many rookie/short season roster players (to include the Angels). I mean a .277 hitter with 1 HR and 15 or 16 RBI if i remember right doesnt constitute a high speed player in my eyes. Now granted he is hitting .350 plus, but i simply havent had the chance to add him yet as well as many other players. Im not sure what you mean by the Angels have a deeper farm system tho as i feel all the farm systems are fairly even

looks good although im gonna knock Andrade down because he is a good MR/CL but not THAT good lol....the tests i ran, he would save 25-30 games with an ERA around 3....but he has consistantly saved 35-40 games there

May I make a suggestion. Work on the player ratings a little more. Especially the Dodgers, here are a few examples: Beltre 1.5 stars should atleast be 4 now, Mota (baseballs best setup man) and Gagne (baseballs best closer) should be 5 stars, Hoorelbeke should not be 3 stars that is better than Green. Just a few but a little more tweaking is definetely needed.

i respectfully disagree with you DodgerBlue14

1 good year does not make beltre a 4

mota is up there but not THE best. he was less than steller for 3 of his previous 5 years and avg another 1 of those, yes hes been great the last 2, but 2 outta 6 aint league best

i have no complaints with gagne

no idea about hoorelbeke, but green is no stud or spring chicken anymore
