The first one looks good, the second is blurry (don't know if its OOTP). Great job though, especially considering these are among your first logos!

What program are you using to modify the pics?

In Photoshop or Paint Shop you can just save the file as a .bmp...

Both are creative images and convey the team name.

#1 is very clear.

#2 is blurry as OBL mentioned.

Always load your logos up in OOTPB and see how it looks on the team setup page. If it gets spotty or splotchy there, then they need to be worked on.

Some designers do logos so well, they even show up well on the small lineup comparison screens.

Choose colors that go together well...make sure the colors contrast well especially for the lettering and image...I see many logos where the letters or image blend into the background and can't be seen easily. I personally don't want a logo that doesn't show up well on the OOTPB screens.

Make the lettering large enough to show up well in the game. Sometimes I see a fine logo, but the lettering is hardly visible in the game.

Frame or border your logos with a color that goes well with the primary colors used...two or three colored borders really look nice, too.

Make sure the colors fit the theme of the logo. That is, if it is a logo about the sea, use sea colors...blues, greens, aquamarine...for a desert...shade of sand colors...patriotic themes, use colors of red, white and blue...to create the mood.

Learn how to avoid color transparency problems...I see this mentioned, but have no graphics skills of knowledge, so I can't tell how to avoid them. But I do know a good logo when I see one. Ask one of the experts how they set the black in their logos to avoid this.

You have talent...just do a lot of logos. You are welcome to create or practice on any of my requests. I will give you an honest evaluation.

Good luck...hope you end up as good as LivnLegend, dbacks, Treches, Shub, pepeda, nmleague, rabblestone, chredwdew, davwms, scotto, knuckler, Markmeister, TrueCardinalFan, Jeff Olsen, TC Dale, bigD4vt, PrestonKaye, Sandstorm3, pat and several other talents that I can't think of at the moment.

I just noticed the paw print coming out of the bottom of the "tar" on the tarpit logo. Classy and subtle. Love it.

So...think I'll be seeing a new Santiago Saints self-designed logo soon?

right now im using MS Paint, but it doesnt have anywhere near the level of "stuff" that id like to be able to use. got a suggestion/recommendation on other software? i dont really need something top-of-the-line. logos (and maybe, just maybe, a stadium or two) are really the only things i would use it for, ie. im not a photographer, artist, professional.

thanks for the feedback eugene

i agree with you completely on the "in-game is important" thing. so far for me, simpler is better. im having a hard time making something complex/intricate that still looks clear in-game.

ive been able to overcome the transparency issue with the help of some of the local designers here. its really just a matter of setting black to not be true black 0,0,0 and can be easily overcome during conversion.

possibly, but not until i perfect my skills a bit. i dont want to do the awesome job you've done a disservice by creating/using something wack. if im not mistaken, which happens a lot, you did the current logo and im lovin it. i like the subtle/classy/simple logos and your saints design is a perfect example (the halo).

I did do it, but basically just snagged the Saints part of it from an existing logo (don't remember what from) and added the scripted font on top. I am far from good at this, but I thought your team's came out decent, so I went with it. My wife is much better at this than me, and (if she actually took the time and cared - I begged her for those she did) could be quite good.

Your first shots looks nice though. Good job!
