Need West Bend Cobras
I need a WEST BEND COBRAS logo.
West Bend is a town of 40,000 in south central Ruthlandia (named for Babe Ruth)...a farming region known for cotton, textiles and agriculture products...situated on the Green River that splits the country in half and runs from Upland in the north and empties into the Southern Sea at the southern resort town of Glasco and takes a westward bend at West Bend...and is also the home of the West Bend Cobras of the Federal Baseball Association and nicknamed for the dangerous cobras that inhabit the area. You are welcome to create it any way you would like...many times you guys do it better than my suggestions. or use some of my suggestions: Frame it in Light Brown and Dark Brown...or whatever you think looks best. (Cincinnati Cobras has good colors...see link below) Please make WEST BEND and COBRAS large enough to be easily seen on the Team Setup and Main Game screens. Here are some ideas: http://www.logoserver.com/CSHL.html (see Cincinnati cobras) Use the one with the crossed hockey sticks, but use bats if possible. Place WEST BEND above the bats...make It two/thirds the size of COBRAS. Or the single hockey stick with the cobra entwined around it...use bats in place of hockey stick...put WEST BEND above the COBRAS and make it two/ thirds the size of Cobras. Make WEST BEND Black with no trim. http://www.logoserver.com/FloridaState.html (see Kissimmee Cobras...the first logo...not 1996 version) If you use the Kissimmee, do not use the wide circle around the baseball...it blocks the view of the cobra's head...just use the baseball...keep red stitches if possible...use Cincinnati Cobras colors...Place WEST BEND below or above the Cobras and the baseball...whichever you think looks better. Make WEST BEND a little smaller than COBRAS. Make WEST BEND Black with no trim. I will be on vacation beginning Saturday...going to see the Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Phillies and Orioles...first time ever at those parks. So if this is done after Friday...I will thank you in a couple of weeks. Last edited by Eugene Church; 08-26-2004 at 10:13 PM. |

Very nice logo, nml...thanks for doing it...it is just what I wanted.
It looks very good on the game screens. You really do fine frames, which makes the logos look very good in the game. This completes this fictional league. A special thanks to all who contributed their time, talent and skills. It is very much appreciated. Only do this if it is easy to do...don't spend much time on it. Can you raise WEST BEND a little higher, so that it doesn't touch the bats? If it will help, make WEST BEND a little smaller...and make it the same color BROWN as COBRAS. I just happened to come across this Cobras logo and edited a bit. Not the one you asked for, but many of the logos at logoserver aren't in very good shape to work with.

Thanks, but I didn't do other than typing the city name, changing colors and resizing. About 3 minutes of work. I did open Illustrator last week for the first time in years, but still not in the mood to start drawing again. Maybe one of these days if Cuss keeps on posting his logos. Anytime I see one of his I think about it. Some of his concepts might need some tweaking, but he's seriously talented.

Photoshop is pixel based whilst Illustrator is vector based. Because of this, you can resize anything without losing resolution, which makes Illustrator a great tool for drawing.

Treches...thank you for another extremely well done logo.
Great placement of the lettering...like the way you let the bat knobs show...the red eyes and red tongue are excellent, too...fine fonts. Can't fine anything to revise...so I guess I'm stuck with just one take. ![]() How do you keep your logos from getting spots and blotches on the game's medium screens? Your trim always looks good. Now I have two fine logos to rotate, thanks to you and nml. Last edited by Eugene Church; 08-27-2004 at 09:24 AM. |

No, no, I didn't draw the logo, so I can't take credit for it.
Here's the original logo.

Hey, this is great...3 versions by 3 of the best designers on the forum.
Thanks jdew...it is simple, but just the way I wanted it. Thanks to nmleague and Treches, too. I hope all you guys lend your talents to knuckler's 1950's MLB project...it looks like it could really be a good one...we need some good logos from that era. |
