Adding suspensions to the game?
How is this best accomplished?
By editing the injury.txt file to include them? If so, what would you use as the trigger besides a fight. I want to add suspensions that wouldn't really be 'triggered' by anything in the game, but would just be random in nature and basically controlled by the pct of the event happening. Anyone help? |

I've edited the injury.txt file to include a few suspensions. The triggers are fight, pitching (suspended for doctored baseball/spitball/scuffed ball sort of thing), outside field (contract dispute.. in the "old days", team owners would suspend a player when engaged in a particularly vicious contract dispute). You could also add things like using a corked bat or fighting with an umpire in the outside field category since those suspensions would likely occur after the game was finished.
Edit: Also have a career ender triggered by outside field for conspiring with gamblers to throw games.... Last edited by jdew; 08-27-2004 at 11:39 AM. |

For "where it happens" you should use '9' since that is outside the field.
Something like: Suspended,0,1,12,9,,,,,,, But there isn't a way that I know of to control how often these things happen. |

What Sporr said.
Also, the first couple of lines of the injury.txt file contains the key to the values. There is no way to control how often anything happens, though. |

It should be here on your computer - view it/edit it with notepad.
C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP 6\Data\injury.txt The top section tells the order of things: Name of injury, effect% (0=not able to play),minimum time, maximum time, where it happens(1 or 4=HBP,2=diving catch,3=Throw,5=Collision,6=Running,7=Pitching,8=S tealing,9=outside field,10=Fight) I remember seeing that someone had a injury editor at one time.....but cant find a good bookmarked link to the file. |
