Superb work, knuckler.
As a big fan of borders/frames...I especially like the double-framed Minnesota Angels and the single-framed Austin Long Stars. That Minnesota logo is excellent in all respects. I hope you keep it. One day I may need a Rochester Red Wings and that would be a great one for it. Last edited by Eugene Church; 09-23-2004 at 05:03 PM. |

No border, but I'll get to it.
A friend of mine has a league where he merged the PCL and MLB in the 50s. Sort of a what if:

Last try on this one, I think this looks a lot cleaner, but at least you have a wide variety of choices now.

Knuckler, a question if you don't mind.
Are those logos of yours entirely original creations, or are some of the images in them taken from other logos or sources? I'm just curious. In any case, the results still look great.

Some are mine, some are taken and modified from other places. You can guess which ones are mine as they are much simpler. The Angels one for instance began life as the Red Wings logo, and I adapted it to make it the Angels. It looks very similar to one of the first LA Angels logos. The Vancouver one is mine, but as you can see it is really simplistic. The Lone Stars one is an eagle from UNT, and I made the star to match the colors from the original eagle, then put the eagle on top of the star. I made an error when making the star though as the pattern doesn't go in the right order of colors. I had already put the eagle on top though, and didn't really want to take the time to fix it since the logo is primarily for my use.
I'm still a beginner in Photo Shop, and I have a lot to learn before I wil be able to create advanced logos. I'm just now getting the hang of the fonts. In any case, I hope that the logos can be of use to people.

The Rochester Red Wings is great...#1 is my favorite...but all of them are very good. I will put them in my logo folder with all the fine others I have collected.
You did a super sweet job on them...with a black/red border...and great multi-colored trim on the font. You couldn't have done them better. Thanks for doing them. I wasn't expecting you to do it now, but later when I needed it. I guess I have to create another league so I can use your fine logos. That Forked River Monsters is excellent, too. Great colors...great border...great cat image...like that light gray or white border...it makes it look like there a plaque on top of a plaque. LivnLegend is right...without him, you and pepeda and a few others...things would really be slow around here. It will be good to get Jeff Olsen back. It just my preference that part of the nickname script/lettering not be hidden by a figure and all images be sharp and full of color...not a fan of faded backgrounds images.
Just my opinion...as I know many good designers like the effects you used on this logo. |

Yeah, I'm not getting positive feedback on it.
My initial thinking was just to make is so the image would be bigger this way. I can see why people don't like it. Just trying to figure out a way to make some 50s logos. I will post some options for the Giants this afternoon, perhaps you could give me some feedback on them as well Eugene. Thanks man.
