Texas League and other fictional leagues
The Texas League has become amazingly popular; it's the most downloaded non-current-season league at Baseball Sim Central, edging out all of the historical seasons (if you think I'm somehow gloating over that, I'm not; bear in mind that I compiled one of those historical seasons and assisted on another one). I get a LOT of email about the Texas League.
So why is it popular? I think the reason is that it's the only premade fictional OOTP6 league available with all the extras - logos, managers, minor league teams, even a parkfile and easy stadum setup. I bet if there were more fictional leagues like it, they'd be popular, too. Maybe more popular. I have several other fictional leagues, but I haven't yet released them because of the harassment I received on this board over the Texas League from a couple of people. Two questions: 1. Do the rest of you want the other leagues released? I'm going overseas again for a short while very soon but I could release them when I get back. 2. Why don't some of the rest of you put together some fully featured fictional leagues and make them available, or just release the ones that you have already made? I know that at least one of you has a couple of fictional leagues already done, and I'll bet he's not the only one that does. I think more would be better here.

2. I have a couple of league that have everything but the minore leagues named. The best one is a purely fictional 32 team (2lgs,4 div. ea.) Divisions are sponsored not by region so you have some odd division make-ups. It is 9 years in, untouched by a human manager, I have a complete cato history also. If anybody is interested I would be happy to make that one available. I also have a business based, mix league of the same make-up (2lgs,4 div. ea.) it started as a custom league w/ no players in 1976, filled AAA created a few rounds of rookies, reset and did a serp. draft. I have been importing "real" players from Lahman since. Managers are not yet filled because i have been using retired players for managers and don't yet have enough. A low talent league with injuries set to high. makes a great challenge. I didn't take a team untill the 1981 (current)season, so i can release the begining of the year file if anybody wants it. again i have a complete cato of this league. (i have also filled the "A" level of minors twice)

I'd post my Scandinavian League as an all-in-one BUT:
1) I'd need about 2000 photos of players appropriate for the league (probably impossible without FaceGen) 2) I'd need stadiums appropriate for the league (no art talent here) 3) Logos (those I am working on) It's a lot harder to do something like this for different era or more esoteric leagues. Your Texas League is one that can do this format. I say post the other ones, why not? |

Ask and you shall recieve, or something like that
anyway I am proud to announce jazzrack baseball (sorry, i had not planned on a public release, be kind) a purely fictional 32 team (2lgs,4 div. ea.) Divisions are sponsored not by region so you have some odd division make-ups. untouched by a human manager, 11 seasons of history. (read me is included) Jazzrack Baseball league file 5.08mb Almanac files 21.6mb unzipped cato website 19.3mb cato DB & data files 33.8mb I will unzipp the cato website as soon as i figure out how to do it thru ftp (i don't have a control panel at that site) If anybody wishes to host the file, please feel free. comment, suggestions, flame wars ect. are welcome. I am happy to learn from this to make my business league a better release when it is ready. edit: I did go ahead and add minor league cities & names, I just couldn't release it unfinished.

I can put my Western Baseball Alliance file together if there is someone to host it. It was the one I did my fictional managerial dynasty on a while back and includes stadiums, logos and photos of many players.

No problem - Halofan, Joe Rock at OOTP Download, and BBSC will all host it.
You can email it to Halofan and Joe, and you can upload it via script at www.baseballsimcentral.com - there's an upload link on the download pages.

Anyone who wants it can grab my CTC League. It is 32 teams 2 league 4 divisions. All teams have logos and Stadiums. The uniforms are being done by chredwdew in the OOTPMods section so as of right now there are no player pics. Most Stadiums are Teflon created. Just goto: http://newrepublic.silvergriffin.com/ootpctchome.html and download the CTC_2007.zip for the league at the beginning of the 2007 season. I also have the Almanacs up for 2002-2006 which need to be unzipped into the Almanac folder.
Stadiums can be found at: http://newrepublic.silvergriffin.com/OOTPctc.html in zipped format. Place stadiums in graphics\ctc folder. I created a custom schedule for the league which plays 14 games against teams in your division and 10 games against teams outside your division. All in division games are played in April and September. There are two schedules that can be found on the main CTC page so you can import each season. The only difference in the two is that the home and away teams are reversed. That way year one you are opening on the road, then year two at home.

Would you be willing to upload them to Sim League Central, OOTP Download Center, and/or Baseball Sim Central so that more people could get exposure and access to them?
