Need a Sugar Valley Rattlers logo

Since it is slow here today with no logo requests, I will see if someone can do a SUGAR VALLEY RATTLERS logo.

Do it any way you feel inspired...or use my suggestions.

I would like the colors to fit a rattler's color...brown, tan, light brown, black (with red tongue)...as seen in the example.

Make RATTLERS script lettering red trimmed in black...same as the sample below.

Please add SUGAR VALLEY lettering bright orange trimmed in red.
Place it above the sample logo...do not put it where UTAH is.
Please make it large enough to be seen well on the game's main screen scoreboard...it could be a little smaller than RATTLERS...about the size of UTAH.

Add a wide black border around the entire logo.

Anything you can do will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Been working on this since last night, hope you like it, eugene. Although I can see how you wouldn't since they really look horrible shrunk down to the game size. I just don't like to design by the game specs since they give too much restrictions to how the logos can look. So here they are in case you don't get any other replies.

here is the primary in a bigger size to show how it would look outside of the game.

What's up with the lightning bolt underneath it's head on the secondary?

tried to harmonize with the wordmark, but I guess I didn't do a very good job at it.

Cuss I hope you don't mind that I used your logo as a base to give Eugene something that can be read in the game. Great design but there is no way you can see the Sugar Valley text in the game.

it's fine nmleague, I am sure EC will appreciate your help. I am perfectly ok as long the correct credit is given.

Another great Cuss16 production...super design...extremely fine snake and font.

Sorry, for making you spoil the design. The smaller Sugar Valley you did really looks better, but as you said, just doesn't show up in the game.

Thanks for doing an excellent logo. If I ever post the new logos you guys have done for me, I will make sure you get credit for the original design.

And thanks to nmleague for enlarging Sugar Valley. I will certainly use it unless Cuss16's shows up better than we think.

Fine work by both of you.

Thanks.

LivnLegend, we can never have too many versions of a logo...especially when they are done by the likes of Cuss16, nmleague and LivnLegend. All of you are welcome and encouraged to do any of my requests.

By the way, how is the fictional stadiums project coming? I hope you share them with us when you complete it.

you are too nice LL. I am sure everyone would like to see as many different styles in the works than my same old boring thing over and over again. Looking forward to your next creation.

Edit - I wish the OT could be as friendly as this place.

One thing I would suggest which might help is to use the primary logo but simply remove "Sugar Valley" from it. That would keep the main essence of the logo and make it viable for the OOTP-required size.

I've been doing some research on logos in preparation for trying to return to making logos. I downloaded a ton of real team logos from various sports in order to print them out to serve as examples (131 logos, to be exact. But my inkjet printer is out of colour so I need to get more ink before I can print them out, unfortunately).

The thing I've noticed is that not all logos include the city name on them; in fact, many don't. Or they include initials only, often as a background element.

So, you could just remove "Sugar Valley," or you could put "SV" in large letters behind the main image, perhaps with a bevel or outline or something like that to spruce up the letters. Doing something like is entirely keeping with actual sports team logos.

Just a thought...

One thing I would suggest to all logo makers is when you post a logo it would be great if you also posted a version without the city names.

Yeah that's what I noticed as well, that's why I rarely will design a logo that will focus on the city name as well as the team name, I always choose one or the other as the main text. However from past experiences , I think EC's personal preference is to have both the city name and team name clearly shown on the logo, hence what happened here. Good point, LGO.

Also due to the constraint of OOTP, (nothing against OOTP at all, I mean the game shouldn't pay too much attention to logos anyways), I think logos such as the one below that only shows part of the logo are the most effective ones.

Well, I'm really going to nee to do a lot of practice before I can get back to doing logos again. I decided to do two modified versions of Cuss' original logo to make the city name more visible. But it took waaaaay longer than it should have as I've just about forgotten how to do anything in CorelDRAW. Ouch.

Anyway, here is my first modified version at 150x150 size:
