I'm fairly new to the OOTP franchise, but my understanding is that OOTP6 will convert OOTP5 leagues for you. (Though your results may vary, especially with pitching ratings... you may want to wait until the new patch is released soon, as Markus said he wanted to revisit any conversion issues that might still be out there)

My hope is sometime next week... it seemed to be about a week between beta and release of the last patch for OOTP5, at least from searching through the forum archives...
I'm holding off on a new season for my solo league until it's out, too... but waiting gives me a good excuse to check out the new version of PureSim 2004.

Well, just as I was about to install it, my laptop's LCD backlight decided to give up the ghost.
 So since I might have to send it away for a week for the cows to fix, it didn't seem like a good time to start a seven day demo.
