Forest City Lumberjacks revision needed

I would appreciate it if someone would add something to dress up this logo. As most of you know, I like both city and nickname on logos.

Would it be possible to add a fancy, bold black "F" trimmed in white in the upper left corner and a fancy, bold black "C" trimmed in white in the upper right corner? Make it as large as aesthetically possible...or place a fancy, bold black "FC" trimmed in white in the lower right corner...if it is possible, create an intertwined "FC" like the "TC" for Twin Cities or the "StL" for St. Louis.

Please be creative. I would like to see what you come up with.
It may not be possible to do this and make it look good.
However your efforts are appreciated.

Thanks.

I'll give it a crack. But do you have a larger version of the file somewhere, or do you just have an OOTP-size 150x150 version? It's a bit tough to work at the small final size that OOTP uses.

Kelric found this one. Sorry, it is the only size I have.

I really like the lumberjack with the bat inside the baseball with the script font and have been using it without the name of the city.

Do with it whatever you can. I know you are the ultimate perfectionist, so please don't spend a lot of time on it.

Create your own design, if that would be quicker and easier. Just make it Green and White with Black lettering trimmed in White. I like the green background.

Make it a traditional, old-fashioned type logo, circa 1950-1980.

Thanks, Cuss16...that is a nice logo...but you know me...the city name is too small to show up in the game...plus I'm hoping someone can use the one I posted for revision and do something with it.

I just like the Lumberjacks script and the lumberjack with the bat.

Okay, my first crack at redoing it for you, Eugene. If you'd like the colours changed, let me know. I kept the CorelDRAW file I used to recomposite the logo.

For anyone curious as to how I worked on this, I first imported the original graphic into CorelDRAW. I then used that program to work with the "Forest City" type and get it into the shape that I wanted. I also redid the "Lumberjacks" type as well so I could change the colours. Fortunately I had a script font which was very close to that used in the original logo.

Once I had things set the way I wanted, I exported the CorelDRAW file using Photoshop document format. Corel allows you to do this, and it retains all the layering used in the original CorelDRAW file. Very handy feature. Once opened in Photoshop I did a few small tweaks, making the background slightly bigger and making a copy of the tip of the bat so it sits over the "Forest City" type. Once done I flattened the file and saved it as a jpeg.

Here it is:

good work LGO, but I think you may have taken the long way in doing this. You can actually alter the small changes right in photoshop since the only changes required here are adding the text and altering the colours. Simply select the white with the magic wand or colour range in photoshop and you can instantly change the colour of the script without redoing it in corel draw. Just my 2-cent.

Even though the text defintely looks cleaner now that you have redone it, but personally I think it's not really worth the trouble to redo the entire script just for a colour change. Nice work as always though.

True, but there are a couple of reasons I did it the way I did.

1) The original logo is only at 150x150 size, so that's really small to work with. I didn't think I'd get much of a clean selection.

2) I didn't really think of it. When it comes to logos I still tend to "think" in CorelDRAW terms.

3) It's been a long time since I used CorelDRAW, and I've forgotten a ton of things. Doing as much as possible in it helps me to get back up to speed in that program. Mind you, this does entail large amounts of swearing and cursing as I struggle to figure out how in the heck to do something. But it will be beneficial in the long run.

4) As you pointed out, the text looks cleaner, and I like that since it matches the "Forest City" at the top in terms of the quality of the appearance.

Well, these at least sound like plausible reasons, so I'm sticking to them!

Just wanted to point out the shortcut so you can get through some of the logo quicker and show us even more LGO logos.

and now you see the reason why my username is "CUSS".

LGO, that is even better than I thought it would be...It is absolutely beautiful...I was just hoping to get "FC" added to it and you included the whole name, Forest City.

Thank you very much.

Your logos are just as perfect as your schedules.
