Sorry, it took longer than I expected. I had to go back and redo some stuff as it wasn't working. Also, only ended up with one good idea.
Anyway, here it is:

Very well done, LGO.
Really like the bat placed inside of the O and the ball with a fine Hoosiers font...like the four circles, too. This is just probably ole picky me, but why did you run the lines under Indiana across the circle? Why not just put them under Indiana? Last edited by Eugene Church; 10-22-2004 at 06:27 PM. |

Just to try something different. Sometimes I feel like I'm repeating myself too much in the logo styles by following the same basic circle logo concepts. For a number of reasons I keep coming back to circle shapes as the most optimal, but there are only so many ways one can do that without becoming too repetitive.
Originally I was going to wrap 'Indiana' around the top inner part of the circle, but once I had the type done it looked nice just having it go straight across, so I went with that. But I wanted a little extra something, and the idea came to me of running the line underneath 'Indiana' as if it were cutting into the circle, and it was something I hadn't done before. So, since it was new, I went with it. ![]() As it was, I had a heck of a time trying to find something to in the background of the logo. I tried putting a solid colour, a large baseball, and it just didn't work for me. I finally hit upon the idea of using broad, alternating dark and light stripes at an angle which matches that of the bat. The idea there was to suggest the kind of striping effect you can often see on grass baseball fields.
