What is the fireman award?
?
Sorry, Im kinda new to baseball. Also, does Catobase pick the award winners for you OR do you have to pick them yourselves. If this is the case (where you pick them yourself) how does one determine which to pick? Do we OOTP or some other stats to look at? Thanks.

the fireman award goes to the pitcher that gets either the most saves, or the most successful save chances, I forget which

The way I've always seen it is through a point system:
3 points awarded per save 2 points per relief win -2 points per loss -2 points per blown save I think that's the way they do it. |

You have to pick them yourself. Incidentially, the real-life reliever's award is the Rolaids Relief Man Award. Their system is:
Tough Save (entering the game with tying run on base) = +4 points Save = +3 points Win = +2 points Loss = -2 points Blown Save = -2 points You'd have a hard time finding the "tough saves" in OOTP, I'd think.
